Server Changes

Post by rdeacon » Jul Thu 30, 2009 2:20 pm

UPDATE

The server transition is complete. There have been some slight issues with the transfer, mostly with the time zone switch, which effected the now playing page times. Currently its adding 30min to the times of the tracks. We have resolved that and as the queue is clear it will fix itself.
The request 64k and 24k are running random tracks not the request stream. Those streams will be going down and as a result we did not update them.

Let us know if there are any other issues.

I want to personally thank Skull for stepping up and donating server space. Without his donation SR would have been in a tough spot as we look for a new home for the main server.

Huzzah...... to Skull :)

Yes... sadly we have to move the server again, and make some adjustments to the streams.

We have the new server up and running, but we have to change the IP address of the domain. As a result there will be a lag in the transition. So some of you will see the construction page until your ISP ( Internet Service Providers) catch up with the new IP. The forums are 100% complete and have not lost any posts. ( We did learn from the last outage :) )

We did have to consolidate some of the streams. As a result the Request2 is not longer an option. I did move over the request slots to the main request link, so there are now 95 slots available. For the time being the background stream also will only be offered in the 96k format.

Thanks for your patience during these technical issues, trust me no one wants to rebuild the site twice in less then a month ;)

Thanks for all the hard work Rich. Hopefully this will be all that the site needs for a while.

He fully expects to not even have to tell anyone the server is moving next time... he'll have it down to a science, so nobody will even notice! :P
