I think its a good thing. Not sure if it works though if you come during a busy time.

As mentioned before in this thread, it is a wonderful thing; the new rules allow everyone a chance at hearing their songs during the day. The only time I don't like the 30-minute rule is on weekends when there are fewer people requesting and I have to wait thirty minutes listening to whatever random songs the computer chooses before I can request more songs, but it can't be helped.

I understand the rule and the reasons why it is needed but on a early Saturday morning it can be frustrating. Oh well choose your favorite of your treasures. :mickey:

I do not mind the 30 minutes at a time (unless you choose one longer track) that is fine.

But I kind of wish that the wait time would be a little shorter. I agree that it should not be right away, that would be annoying, but when it is 3.5 days, I am lucky if I can hear my favorite track once a work week.

Would 2 days not be long enough to wait? 48 hours seems like a good enough waiting time or me.

What do you think, guys? Would a slight lowering be possible?

I know the limit has been in effect for a while now, I wish during "down times" the rule did not have to apply. Just wondering...what is the point in accumatling points to request since we're limited? I know some tracks require more points, but after you've hit a certain # of points to where you can request any track you want, is there really a point to the points?

Not complaining! I LOVE this site, just curious.

I have to agree with you. Last night I was in the mood to request a lot of songs and had to keep waiting for the 30 minute rule with the queue and I was the only one requesting at the time. I found it kind of annoying, but in the end I got to listen to everything I wanted!

Yep, it seems that it is a shame that the rule is implemented at times when there are only a few people requesting as it is frustrating. As i've already said, the whole idea seems like a good one, but the results haven't encouraged me to request - or listen at times! - as the first thing I do is look at the length of the queue and then often give up. But again, it's a good thing that we are having to have this conversation.

I added this to the to-do list, but I have been so busy, as you can see by my not being around, so don't expect anything soon. :(

Perhaps there is a way to get the software to implement the restriction when there is say, more than X amount of people online, but if there's just one or two people listening or requesting, it could be lifted? Or only have this rule during certain hours of the day. I was on last night and it was DEAD, EMPTY, you name it. I was out of points so I couldn't request, but it wouldn't have made much difference because just a few tracks would have set me back anyway.

I agree. If there's not many people online, one should be able to request more than 30 minutes of music. It's difficult to implement based on how many listeners there are, a little less difficult to implement based on time (or day). It's low on my priority list though. Sorry, no ETA for when this will get in. :(

For what it's worth, if you (or anyone) see me sitting around online and there's nothing in queue, and you don't have enough points to request whatever, feel free to PM me and if I can request it, I will. I have enough points to choke a horse these days, and rarely request anything for myself anymore. I'm usually on at night when it's quiet, and I don't mind giving to the point-poor.

That comes with a disclaimer in advance that I'll need to notice I have a PM first, though.

That is very generous of you. Even if I actively request, I find it nearly impossible to use up even half of my points. It's a shame that there is no point redemption program. Example: 5,000 points could mean $$$ off your next trip or free disney merchandise. Sub, is there anyway to get Disney to sponser a program like that? :D

Unfortunatly my problem is not as much points- usually I am okay on those, though sometmes (like today) I run short) but what is available. A lot of times my favorites are popular tracks, so I don't get to choose them as often as I wish :/

You can do this with me also. I always have lots of points, I rarely have below 13K points available. If you want something played just PM and I'll try to request it for you. I'll have to keep a close eye on my PM's though. I'll try to help where I can. ;+>
