Same thought here. It's just the first day, but I just requested and it's still playing about 6 hours after I requested, which is about the normal wait time. Good thing I request first thing when I get into work in the morning, and then hopefully I don't have a meeting during my play time :)!
I'm really glad we're at least trying to fix the problem though.

I think that this is a good solution. Let's see how it pans out!

I am not sure if this is working? I just logged on and the queue is over 3 hours long. YIKES! I hope it will work out for all of us.

I normally request late in the evening on the east coast when there are minnimal #s in the queue. There are not as long times then.... o well cant please everyone. Personally I do think there is a need for this restriction I will probably turn to listening to the backgroud or star tunnel steams. They are really relaxing from a hard day! Thanks for all that you do

I like to make my requests at night when queue is empty. With this new restriction I'll be battling the auto-request. Is there a way to turn it off when the queue is empty?

I think its a great idea. I think it will give more people the chance to do requests. And since this is the "request" stream then of course the queue will be long. Kinda like the queues at the parks, but definately worth the wait for your songs to play :D

Hello all.. just to clarify.

The point is not to have the request queue be an hour, but to allow more and different members to get their requests in. There are only so many slots available for request during a given day. We generally fill up those slots during the day, which is a good thing. The limit allows for more individuals a chance to get their requests in.

Also as for the weekend or off times, I think we covered this the last time when we put the first restriction on the queue. There is no way for us to know when the queue will be busy, so the restriction will stay on 24/7. You will just have to request in 30 minute blocks. This is the only way to ensure that the request system stays fair.

Thanks for all your feed back.

I've been gone for a week and I've missed a lot! But this sounds like a nice change, so hopefully it will work.

I like when we could make requests up to an hour in length. This is a little frustrating, but I understand there are alot of members on this site now. You're just trying to be fair.

I've notice everyone is getting very creative with their request. A lot of people are learning what they have to do to get the complete 30 minutes in. Also we're all learning what cuts are the long ones.

I'm afraid that I don't think it will and that the best idea are the suggested above about having multiple request channels. But it would be pointless to have one for East, one for West, and one rest of the world as unless you are going to stop East coasters using say the West channel by IP address people are just going to pick the shortest stream!
Yeah, that would make things uber-complicated, I think!

Good idea!

I had stopped requesting because the queue was always filled for the work day before I got around to it. Now, I'm able to get in a request for the afternoon at 8:45 am EST. Not ideal, but definitely an improvement.

I think this is a good change but it is still the early bird who gets their request in. :goofy_bounce:
