Not sure that this has made much of a difference at all. Has anybody suggested the idea of limiting the amount of requests each member can have in the queue at any time? If we were only allowed say 1 piece in the whole queue at any time even if the amount of people logged in was 20, the queue could only be 20 tracks long.

Possibly...but that is up to the individual. I'm not saying that a long queue is discouraging, especially if you want to hear a track immediately.
Balancing the restrictions is a delicate matter. We will never satisfy everyone. So at this point we let the queue length get long at the expense of more requests.
Nothing is set in stone. As the site grows it will evolve. Hmm kinda like...
Hang in there.. and thanks growing the site and giving us "good" problems

We have some ideas in the pipeline we just need some time to develop them.Walt Disney wrote:"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world...."

I'm wondering the same thing, well of course if no one is requesting you can add more once a few of your songs play. But as someone else mentioned, I request tracks and have them play while I am doing something else. Now having to come back and request more in a little while is a minor nuisance but just a thought.disneylandmom wrote:I'm just wondering if there will be a problem if say someone is sitting there late in the day when nobody is requesting and you have to wait to request but the random generated requests pop up. I wouldn't want to wait an hour for a random generated song to play when I'm the only one requesting.
That being said I wonder if you can limit the length of the randomly generated tracks?
Just a thought and a question not trying to stir up trouble or anything.

The issue with allowing longer request blocks, during off peak times, is that we can't look into the future. If we could I would be in the Magic Kingdom earning 20%, ahhh.....
.....ok back from my daydream
So when it is "slow" or no one is requesting it would be cool to allow longer blocks, the issue is we don't know if 5 min later, the request queue is going to get swamped. So the 30min block has to be in effect for 24/7. Sry, that's the only way it remains fair to everyone.

I just requested a song that was 14 minutes long. when it had 2 minutes left I tried to request something 25 minutes long and it wouldn't allow - stating the 30 minute thing. So, now the song has been finished for about 5 minutes, so I have NOTHING in the que and I still can't request anything - it states the 30 minute thingy. Am I doing it wrong?

no, it's not that you're doing anything wrong. just because your track is done playing does not automatically mean you can request again. I would wait 30 minutes after you originally requested the last track. by then, you should be able to request again. if you're still having problems, please post them in the Bugs forum and we'll check it out ASAP...
