ok, running the numbers and checking the prices confirms this fact - unless a miracle of Disney preportions, I will not be able to make it. as of this moment in time, I have about $180 or so ready for a trip, but that won't cover the hotel nor air fare, let alone tickets or meals.
I'll be sure to wear my SR shirt on that day, even though I won't be able to make it. Have fun, everyone.

I signed up today. I will be in Orlando Jan 20-28. Staying at Wilderness Lodge. Any ideas on what to expect (it's our first time at WL).

Re: MEET
the meet is in Disneyland, not Walt Disney World. Unless you're planning on going to both, I'd remove your name from the RSVP list so that Sub doesn't count too many people in...charlesrowland wrote:I signed up today. I will be in Orlando Jan 20-28. details are usually ironed out shortly before the meet. Usually, there is a set time where everyone meets up, and they take a group shot. in the past, they've met at the "R" in "CALIFORNIA" in the Esplanade area. then they go on a couple of rides, maybe grab a meal, and generally hang out and meet people from the forums in person.Bullwinkle wrote:How does this thing work? Do we all meet at a designated time and place? Is there a schedule? Do we just wing it?

I just saw the shirts.. I actually want to get one even though I'm not going to the 5 Year Anniversary
I like the black one personally since I don't really like to wear white.

For anyone on the border about going to DL5 that lives on the eastcoast I have some hopefully good news for you. I have just rebooked my flight to Orange County Airport (SNA) for $93 each way. Now I know what does this have to do with me, right. Well it has lots to do with you, if I found a flight that was $284 LESS than when I booked it back in November this means you can get a cheap flight too. Many of the airlines are desparate to fill the planes right now and you can get some truely amazing deals. I have never seen anything to SNA for under $100 since I have been going to California.
The airport I am flying out of is Philadelphia (PHL) and I am flying with Southwest Airlines. You can use any other airline you want, but it is just the idea of lower fares.
Here is a sample of fares from around the US: (on Southwest)
Manchester, NH (MHT) - Los Angeles (LAX)-------------$93 eachway - total after taxes = 228.40
Columbus, OH (CMH) - Los Angeles, CA (LAX)----------$92 eachway - total $217.90
Kansas City, MO (MCI) - Orange County, CA (SNA)---$69 eachway - total $180.40
Jacksonville, FL (JAX) - Los Angeles, CA (LAX)----------$102 eachway - total $244.90
Pittsburgh, PA (PIT) - Orange County, CA (SNA)-------$81 eachway - total $204.40
AND OFCOURSE:
Orlando, FL (MCO) - Orange County, CA (SNA)--------$93 eachway - total $228.40
Here's a weird one Indianapolis, IN - IND to SNA is cheaper than to LAX by almost $10 and you are 40 minutes closer to the parks.
And if you want to checkout the deals, on southwest, in your area just go to http://www.southwest.com/wannagetaway/ and choose your city. your destination should either be Los Angeles, CA (LAX) or Orange County, CA (SNA) Your dates should be somewhere around the 7th of February.
