Streams are Fully Restored!!!

Post by Subsonic Radio » Mar Mon 03, 2008 10:41 am

Subsonicradio is pleased to announce that all the streams are back online!!

:D

We now have a 96k request stream!

We also added more slots to the background stream. We will be adding more slots to the 96k request stream by Monday, as well as a 64k background stream option.

You might be asking your self why 96k and not 128k?

We have decided to slightly reduce the maximum streaming rate from 128k to 96k. The difference in stream quality is negligible, and by reducing the rate to 96k we will have some room for some future growth. It should also be noted that the primary reason we limited the streams to a max of 96k is that only about 30-40% of the tracks are at 128k quality. So for a majority of the tracks you are not losing any quality.

Enjoy the streams!!

Thanks again to all who donated the time and resources to get us back up and running!

Alas, I have the same issue at work that I always have. Everything but port 8000 is blocked. I can now only listen to either the 24k stream (ack!) or the scheduled stream. No more requests!

Can anyone help people like me?
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

We have switched the ports so that the requests stream is port 8000. Enjoy!
