Thanks for the hard work on getting things back to normal. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the fact I can access the background streams from work (used to not be able to connect to the server they and the 128 streams were on anyway).

That depends on whether you are one of the Vals I know from elsewhere! LOL. I'm based in the UK if that helps?

I know, during the day when I'm in the computer lab, All I can listen to is the Soarin track, but no complaints here.

Just wondering how the progress is going.

I can give you a quick update...

Looks like by this weekend we should have the scheduled streams back.

By next weekend we will have 50 requests streams and 50 background streams. Of the 50 background streams 25 will be at 96k and 25 at 64k.

Thanks for hanging in there.

What was the cause of the problems with the streams? I'm just curious, assuming it's not proprietary Subsonic Radio trade secrets.
The reason most the streams went down was due to the loss of our main stream relay. This relay requests a huge amount of bandwidth. And since the last time I checked bandwidth doesn't grown on trees, its taken us some time to come up with a plan b. Since subsonicradio does not charge or take donations, it wasn't an issue we could just fix in a few hours. But thanks to some generous individuals subsonicradio will soon be back to its former glory.

I think all of us loyal subsonic fans should give a hats off to the anonymous individual who ran our main relay. Thanks to his dedication and donation, we were able to enjoy the great tracks subsonicradio has to offer. It was just unfortunate that the good times had to come to an end.

A million thanks to Subsonic and everyone who keeps this site running. I wouldn't know what to do without Subsonic Radio; it's my lifeline!
