I have to confess to being totally ignorant on RSS feeds and Podcasts. Can someone point to a site with a good explanation of them?

Thanks! That helps a lot. In my mind I thought RSS feeds and Podcasts were the same thing. Now I know better.

Hey guys, it looks like your RSS feed isn't playing nice... my reBlog installation updates my feeds every hour on the hour, and for every other feed in my reader (60+), after it nabs the post, it successfully marks it as "read" and doesn't grab it again... but every hour, the last six posts to the front page appear once again. Is your feed not allowing itself to be marked "read?" Is it refreshing so it looks "new" to readers? Anyone else experiencing this?

OK, I've down loaded the software on my home computer. It seems I can just go to the forums and get the same stuff. Are there other uses for this software?? Can I now get POD cast on my computer? Is there a reason I'd want to get POD cast on my computer? Am I going to have to ask my teenagers for info on this?? This makes me feel so old!! OY!!!!!

Oops. I'll have a look at that now and see if I can work out why. I think I know, but I'll check for you now.

I'll let you know shortly if I was right :)

OK, I think I know what happened. I've added the LastBuildDate tag to the RSS feed generator. This should fix that issue. If it doesn't, let me know. I don't have a reBlog installation to test this on, and don't feel like installing it tonight as I don't have working cgi-bins at the moment.. ;)

I have to say I think Safari has the best RSS reader.

Which is great if you're on a Mac... those of us running Windows or Linux are out of luck with Safari.

The best RSS reader is a host-it-yourself install of reBlog. I've used dozens of hosted and desktop RSS readers over the years, and I stand by that statement.

I just put the RSS feed onto my Google Homepage. It works great and I'm excited about having up-to-date subsonic news right on my desktop.

Yeah, I really like google reader for that. I should get a few more sites in there. I only have 3: Re-imagineering, a kingdom of dreams, and mine.
