And no doubt it will happen again. I couldn't get on the 64k stream and had to settle for 56 just a while ago.

Exposure on MousePlanet brought me over here, as well as many others, I suspect. Looks like you will have to increase your capacity.

Maybe it's time to start asking people to lend bandwidth and relay streams. It's pretty easy to set up, but wouldn't really be worth it unless one had more than 400k up (6 x 64k streams = 384 + little bit of room)
Running a relay takes up 1 slot on the main server. So you fill that slot, but add 5 more (if you were hosting 6).

I have just found out that someone was ripping streams from the station. This person was filling up 10+ slots! I can't believe it. Stream ripping is not allowed.

WOW thats a long time to rip the one program I had I could leave it to ripp all the time if I wanted but it only used one connection. WTF how many times do you need to record the same song? and it would make the song come quicker. Would it?

But I do have to say if it wasn't for my ripping software I would have never have found subsonic.

There have been times where I left the stream on overnight, but I never rip from the channel. Although I wouldn't mind having a few of the tunes for my collection.

Again, it might be time to start asking for bandwidth :)

Hey Sub,

You might have some listeners who aren't tech savvy who might be willing to help out with bandwith to support the site if you tell them how...
