128k Stream issues

Post by subsonic » Oct Mon 24, 2005 5:39 pm

Yesterday the 128k relay was hit by a category 3 hurricane. Jgreco is okay but had to run off a backup generator for the past 48 hours.

The streams are being tempermental. Please have patience while we resolve the problem.

I've noticed the stream on and off over the last couple of days. hope all will be back in working order soon.

Stream is back up and running. Datacenter switched to battery backups after gensets failed to kick on.
this small weather problem

I guess if I had a SLA with Subsonic to provide "free" outbound fractional DS-3 bandwith i would be more apologetic...6 million people do not have power here...so its a blessing that we have the stream back up.

I wasn't being mean ment nothing by it "small weather problem". If it wasn't for the fact that this happens every year a couple times a year don't you find yourself saying "here we go again?" lucky it was only a cat 3 when it hit landfall and not a 5 like katrina. So if I were to compare it to Katrina than yes it was a small weather problem. Now if I was going to compare it to SoCal weather than no it is a huge huge problem.

Once again I said

And I also wonder about Rich he is down there also. Like i said I hope ebverything is okay for you not alot of damage (none would be best)

Sorry for the way it sounded not very nice but I ment nothing by it.

FYI: 128k May be intermittent for a while

Our power was restored yesterday, thanks to FPL. We were hit with 100+ mph winds Monday morning. I was lucky, all four of my properties made it through the storm without any damage. :o Hope everything is ok for everyone else in south Fla.
Best wishes from Naples.

I wanted to send out best wishes as well to everyone in South Florida affected by the hurricane as well. I heard firsthand accounts about people waiting up to 8 hours for gas at filling stations.

and I bet they are charging an arm and leg for gas. I know out in SoCal I'm paying $2.89 a gallon, I wonder how much it is in the Disaster areas
