First Subsonic Radio chat is a mild success!

Post by subsonic » Feb Fri 24, 2006 12:05 pm

First, a thank you to those that came to the chat:

ChaiNS
Alex Loup
Chesire Cat
rdeacon
Eagle4Life69
ZenMondo
Happyfunball
Mickeymac
Disneyfan2
QuickGold

I had a good time "DJ"ing the station for an hour. Discussions ranged from technical questions to simply talking about fond memories.

Next time we do this, I'll give more notice as to the event and put announcements in the stream. Perhaps a Sunday afternoon would work better, especially for east coasters.

Thanks again to those who showed!

Well, considering how many people listen to this station and are registered...

But yeah, I'm sure only a day of notice and the late time made a big difference. Even Addlema was asleep.

Oh well.

To all who missed it, Sub actually voiced an ad. It wasn't bad. I had a good time.

I'll really try to join next time. I thought I had everything set up. Java and all.

Again, when I plan another one I'll give more notice, put announcements into the stream, and hold the event on the weekend so it won't be so late for east coasters.

Besides a fixed date, people are always in chat all the time. (Though, sometimes we're working and don't talk).

Also, you don't have to use the Java webpage. There's a seperate IRC client we have made that you can download, unzip, and run. This will automatically connect you to the server and join the channel.

I'd like to be a part of the next one when it comes up. Sounds like fun. :)
Friendships are a blessing. Don't waste it on people who can't appreciate it.

I just found this site, so I've never been able to do any chat here, but it sounds like fun.
