Error message win trying to connect to WMP...
Hello,
I am usually able to connect with no issues but the past few day I get the following error message when trying to connect...
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")."
I am clicking from the home page on the WMP player icon.
It is happening both at work (where I have NO ability to change or update things) and also at home (but i dont listen there often)
Any advice?

Well I just tried to click from the boxs on the side and was able to connect.
Not sure what the issue is with the boxes right in the middle of the home page though. They arent working for me.
Oh well, at least I have the music now!

Try just clicking on the links to the left under "Stations". The player should open automatically, if not you can set it to always open that type of file with winamp. We can help you with that if you don't know how.

I would try using Winamp or iTunes (my preferred player) to see if it is a WMP issue or something more complex.

Re: Error message win trying to connect to WMP...
I have had this problem on and off for a while and finally figured out what the problem was.
Go into WMP and click Now Playing, More Options, then click the Network Tab.
Under Streaming Proxy Settings, click on HTTP and click the Configure button.
Make sure that your Proxy Settings are set properly. Mine were set to Use Proxy Settings of the Web browser, and I don't use a proxy. I changed it to "Do not use a Proxy".
Click OK, then click Apply.
Now go back to Subsonic and select an option and didn't work before.
I hope this helps users that were having this problem.
I love Subsonic!!!!
