Windows Media Not Connecting

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I haven't been able to connect to media via Windows since yesterday afternoon on my work computer. I'm getting an error code of C00D11B3.
Does anyone have an idea of how to get access to listen? (Windows media is the only program allowed to listen with so unfortnately, I can't use the other media player option)
Thank you!!!
Kian

That error code is for a network error.
Couple questions:
Which stream are you trying to connect to?
Which version of WMP?
What OS?

Hi,
I tried all of the streams with no success. I think it's the newest version (there was a system update to the desktops on Wednesday) and I think this is the WMP version: 11.0.5721.5145
I have no idea what an OS is. Sadly, I'm not the greatest when it comes to computers.
But if it's a network error, then it's on my end right?
Thank you

Try Winamp! It works great and it's a free download.

Are you able to get iTunes?
OS stands for operating system. Sounds like you are running a Windows based computer. Which version of Windows do you have on your computer.

Hi,
It's XP. It looks like the work system uses a dial up (not a LAN) but unfortunately, I haven't a clue on how to get access to listen to the music.

Is it your personal PC or your work PC? My work network has severe restrictions for its users. Some corporate networks are set up to disable streaming for their network users (like where I work). If we click on streaming here, it does nothing and if you're not aware of the corporate policy it makes you think you're not getting a connection. We cannot make the adjustments ourselves because we don't have the admin rights to make any changes to our network profiles. My place of work requires justification in order to do streaming - like: CPE over the internet requires streaming, it's free at certain sites, and therefore saves $$$ over paying for CPE.

It's a work PC. Sadly, I'm banking on the fact that because I don't have Admin rights, I can't listen. But I can pull up Pandora and that's okay...sometimes these admin rights make no sense.
Thanks!

Have you tried asking your company network admin for specific permission to listen to music at your work station? It might not work but it's worth a shot..

Sometimes, if you can install a program on a flash drive and run it from there, you can get it to work from a networked work computer and run it that way...

Awesome ideas! I'm not sure I'll be so lucky with the IS people...but I can see about a flash drive load! I can also see if I can try and load iTunes too (another long shot but I can always try).
Thank you all! I have to try these tomorrow to have something wonderful to listen to so I can make it through the days

Okay...I'm going to ask another stupid question...If all else fails, I'm going to have to buy a new MP3 player (broke the last one) so I was looking at the Creative X-Fi or others. Is there one that is better than the all the others that I can get Subsonic on?
Thank you again!!!

Hmm in order to get some way to stream the music I think you might need to buy something that can stream off of something other than your workplace internet. The easiest selections that I can think of off the top of my head are the iPhone a new Droid, or a Blackberry. Another option might be to bring a personal laptop with a wireless card through a wireless cell phone provider. I am starting to think that the workplace is locking up the computers so these might be the only other options left.
If you want just an MP3 player to play regular music during work, I always recommend the new iPod Nano Video. I have one and it has taken a lot of abuse already but works perfectly.

Kian,
I have the same issue. No streaming at work on pain of death! So, I beat the system and stream on my iPhone using SHOUTcast. I love it!
