I'd say it's more then a bit pricey.

EDIT: Just remember to go to the Supported Hardware page on the company's site to see what hardware you can use. You are somewhat limited but you still have a good selection of parts.

Thanks a lot for the info Dr. R. I appreciate that!

Hmmmm, sounds like I should wait a while before moving Windows 7. Sometimes it pays not to be the first guy on the block with the new toy...

Len90: building a hackintosh - are you a computer major?

Nope, just love playing around and out smarting machines. It's just fun.

I have to agree with this statement. Unfortunately when it comes to technology, it is not good to be the first one with new stuff. There are always going to be kinks that will get worked out over time. The OS has still even yet to be released officially. I know from Snow Leopard that there were kinks and it took two weeks for the first update to come out.

I won't change my OS until after the next one has been out a FEW YEARS!! Then it still has to prove itself as a stable platform. Look at at I don't know, Windows 2000, mil, vista to name just a few!

PS I use XP and if it wasn't for the drivers I'd be using 98. A lot of the venues at WDW still use 98 because of it's stability

Lesson over the years from the Latest Technology: burned once, twice, thrice - after a while, you just don't want get burned anymore!

Len90, you're different than most of the younger generation who loves to get latest and hottest technology. Sounds like you've learned this lesson we've learned painfully over the years. Why do you like Mac over PC?

Win7 is substantially better then Vista. If you are running vista I would upgrade the day it comes out :)

It seem to work if you open the stream from the listen page.

I had to get a new computer as my precious cow (gateway) died. It was a sudden unexpected death, very painful for me and my wallet. Motherboard completely fried as was the video card and of course no one knows why. Now I have a fabulous 8 core processor Dell Studio XPS which came with Windows 7. It's fast as lightening with a tera of space. The sad thing is I couldn't get subsonic to play. I had all the same issues as above. I downloaded winamp and everytime I clicked on the icon under the request stream, it gave me file open/save/cancel. When i clicked on open, I got an error. Frustrated I opened shoutcast inside of winamp, searched for winamp, clicked on "tune in" and thank goodness I'm happily now listening. I just hope I can remember how I got here, or maybe I'll just never turn it off :D

Tory,

You can also use the links for Win7 and WMP

Thanks for posting the link!

I was having the same problem above with Win7 only playing the introduction and stopping, but now I'm back in business! :)

I had to get my Disney music fix in as I only have 2 weeks until we're at the World!

Just got Win7 and have the same problem. The links worked so thanks fo that!

Also someone mensioned that they went through the listen section, so I tried that and then I was asked if I wanted to let Real open it, so I said yes and it works just fine. Maybe it will work for others too.

I have Windows 7 and listen on Winamp and don't have any issues. I actually like Windows 7. I have XP at work and was so glad that I got Win7 on my new laptop and didn't have to deal w/Vista at all :D
I hope you got it all figured out and can listen.

I'm on windows 7. I'm assuming you're talking about Windows Media player. Perhaps you need to associate the .pls files with WMP?

Personally, I use winamp. :)

Again...anyone who has iTunes...the streams work great with that. It's what I use at work. It will show the name of the current track being played as well, which I don't think Windows Media Player does. It's great for your WDW podcasts as well.
