That's not a post. That's a link to get your account activated. Please explain more why you can't listen.

sorry too much copy-paste  , the good link http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/ind ... l=helsinki

it says
Same as the problem reported some time ago with Radio Helsinki. The advertisements have both ID3v1 and v2 tags. The MP3 reader is designed to skip over ID3 tags in the middle of normal files, but not in streams. This is the admin's fault for leaving the tags on his/her advertisements, and/or the streaming server not removing the tags properly.

Unless you can find some sort of standard document about Shoutcast and/or Icecast that supports sending both ID3v2 and ID3v1 tags in the stream, then a workaround will not be incorporated into the main player.

If you want to take a crack at it yourself, all you need to do is edit foo_input_std's mp3.cpp so that the ID3v1 skipping code will swallow the remainder of the tag when the reader is incapable of forward seeking. Dead simple.
I can hear the intro and it stops

It must exists one but I have already more than 15h of disney music at home with 'Disneyland : The First 50 Years ... A Retrospective' :)

I use masstagging, massrenaming plugins. Same things may exist with winamp but I don't like the 'use by everyones' softwares and winamp's skins are very useless and ram expensive.

Foobar is a know stream ripping software. We have a system set up to auto ban any known ripping software. You are only able to use 3 programs to listen to this site without having to worry about being banned. Here are the 3 good software.
  • 1.Winamp
    2.Windows Media Player
    3.Real Player
We have it set so just about every otyher player is auto banned.

Also once a month those ip's get unbanned (because most aren't static). I can tell you that in 1 month I have gotten about 300 ip's that where classified as Known rippers. Sorry if you have been banned please let us (Subsonic, Eagle4life69, & JS3901) know and we can remove you from the banned list.

One last thing the only reason I don't anyone ripping the site is because I want people to keep comming back. Not grabbing the music will help keep people come to the site for years to come

Hi, your anti-ripping system is a bit drastic no ?
what about Mac users and linux ones who can't have winamp and the others players ?

more over you can rip a radio with winamp and this plugin http://winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=143606 i think

I've never use foobar for ripping and probably most of people don't.

Apple Quicktime will also work.

As for the winamp plug-in, I don't think it's a ripper as it's for OUTPUT. It's to write the ID3 tags on files for things like ShoutCast (which this station runs on). And we have the auto-banner set up to black anything that is identified as a plug-in to a player...

There are options out there for Mac and Linux users if people look hard enough. most of the players we allow will support Mac and/or Linux systems...

and, in any case, the ripper ban is not drastic by any means. We're not a file sharing site in any sense of the word, and it IS possible that the site be shut down if certain people get wind of it. We want to keep The site up and running for many years to come, and we want listeners. Not just people who come here to steal from us.

If people want Disney audio, try irc channels like #disney, or get ahold of some of the park CDs...

Even though you SAY you've never used Foobar for ripping, doesn't mean you can't. Plus, as much as we love our users, we just can't trust your (or anyone else's) word. It's just too risky...

Ok
At this time I use musikcube and there is no way to rip anything else than cd with it. :)

I don't like winamp, wmp and realplayer because they are ugly ram expensive and full of useless options in my opinion. :(

if someone wants to rip radio it's possible to send the useragent he need to be not banned. But your system must block most of them and unfortunately some honest listeners too :(

your right to defend your site. I like it and now i can listen it too.

I am not banning iTunes from the main 64, 24, and 56 streams. You can connect to those.

Some of the smaller players should be banned, but iTunes should not.
