Mouse disappearing?

Post by figment34786 » Apr Tue 22, 2008 7:06 am

Um, sometimes randomly on the page, my mouse disappears! It only happens on this site. I know the mouse is supposed to disappear over the title on the top of the page, but it is happening even when that title isn't in view. When it disappears, I can't even see the mouse when I try to use the browser controls at the top of the screen, but the buttons still fade when I am able to move the invisible mouse over them. I am able to get it back though by wiggling it very fast. It just gets annoying after a while.

I have Mac OS X 10.5.2 (the latest version of Leopard) on an iBook G4. I am running Safari 3.1. I doubt it's the computer, because it only does this on this site.

I have same OS available to me and as I suspected, it's what I experience as well. I find if i move the mouse around rapidly going in and out of the window it starts working... I admit it is VERY annoying. I would suggest it's an issue with Safari and wait until 10.5.3 is released next week and see if one of the 180+ fixes in there is one of them.

Sigh....

/me takes your Safari away and replaces it with Firefox when you're not looking.

Got the Safari update. No good. I have fire fox downloaded, but I never use it. I'll give it a go, but I thought that Safari was faster. :? Well, I tried Fire Fox and it works great! It's also faster. Thank you!

Just a general thought here...

The recent version of Safari seems to be a bit buggy. I've run into mutliple issues with it, and not just on our site.

So if you are having issues, please use Firefox.
