Dr, turn off your firewall as a test.. If this doesnt work turn on the logging of the firewall.. I would also look in your system and security logs to see if there is a problem there.

Try the 96k streams? I have had no problem listening to any of the stations.. I do only use winamp though or XMMS havent tried Real Player or WMP.

I know that if I have the firewall up, I have a few problems in connecting to the stream, so I would try turning that off. Though, usually with the firewall, it'll prompt me automatically to ask if I want to let the site/stream through. definately unusual...

Hi,

Just thought I'd followup. Still no luck with the new laptop at work, and I had to give up my old one to another employee so I'm subsonic-less at work (unless I can sneak onto the old laptop in the other guy's office--yes, I'm an addict :) ). However, the good news is I've got myself up and running on the home computer using RealPlayer. So, I can at least get my fix at night and on weekends!

Thanks again to everyone who tried to help.

Have a great weekend.

Hi all:

Just a quick update for those who may be interested - I am currently listening to Subsonic Radio, at work, on the new laptop! I pestered our IT guy for a long time but he didn't really want to try to figure it out. Then, we discovered I can't get some work-crucial access to a communications system we need for our work. So, the boss got involved, the IT guy figured out that problem, and it fixed my Subsonic as well :D

For the computer techies out there who may care (I am not overly computer literate so I'm sure there's more to it than this), it had something to do with:

Loading "secure client", whatever that is. Then in Firewall Client Options I had to "Enable Firewall Client". The IT guy said it has something to do with my computer's firewall and our server firewall.

Anyway, THANKS again to all who helped out!

Work just got brighter....

I was going to come back here and apologize for requesting Hallowishes (it's been a long time since I've heard it here) but it wasn't available - I'm sure you're all disappointed

I'm glad it's working! Sounds like it was a windows firewall issue. They probably had to open up some ports. Who knows, doesn't matter now. It's all better.

Is anyone else having connection issues? Seems like [for me anyways] all streams either time out or are really choppy to the point that you can't even listen... Just wondering if others have had this problem...

It's two days later, I'm not having problems. Is it still an issue for you?

Seems to be better, no sure why that happens from time to time though. Suppose it could be the connection here - after the squirrels chewed thru the phone lines I wouldn't put it past them to eat the cable line too!

Its back, the 96k and 24k are "ICY 403 service Forbidden" and 64k is all choppy. Not sure if it is a part of the new Sub 2.0 and just a glitch or what. Thanks for any help!

I see your IP is in the ban list. What have you been doing wrong? :(

Beats me, I just use WinAmp to listen both at home and on the road. Nothing that can rip music streams, I don't even know what does that any more. Not sure if using WinAmp is the issue or not... I know Eagle's auto-banning devise put the IP address on the list a while back, is that still an issue? Though now it seems to be working ok again, not dropping out or anything like that. Very strange.
