Of course, that may have just been a tongue-in-cheek question by Clusty, alluding to the fact that stereo recordings are outdated technology as opposed to digital.

Analog is so superior to digital. Digital is like no flavor. Analog is Ho Jo's!

Yeah, it's kind of a trade off, though. I remember the analog being a richer sound, but then you always had to deal with tape hiss 'n stuff. I think the ease of use across a wide range of media that digital offers definitely makes up for it. Plus, you can always adjust the sound to your taste with a graphic equalizer. Heck, even Windows Media Player has one built in!
