If they were basing their selections on "diversity" and other such political-correctness nonsense, then they didn't deserve to have you!

It is an educational, governmental-type institution ~ of course it is going to be based on diversity. No worries ~ the fact that I wasn't picked just means it wasn't meant to be for me and I am needed elsewhere...like getting ready for an awesome Mayhem Marauding Meet-up in December!Mousekedude wrote:If they were basing their selections on "diversity" and other such political-correctness nonsense, then they didn't deserve to have you!

Re: Month at the Museum
Well, my Mom and I, and my brother and his family went to the museum today. I had a chance to meet Kate very briefly and I must say, she really is a great person for the job of living at the museum for the month. She was very kind and took time to talk to everyone standing by her "cube" which is her office in the rotunda of the museum. I took a picture with her too but it is a little fuzzy so I am going to try to clean it up a bit before I post it.

A little over 2 hours to get to the museum since it is on the outskirts of the city. We waved at the Valpo exit as we went byboilerbabe wrote:You were in Chicago Amy? Thanks for the link MmeLeota! I hadn't seen this video yet. I was lucky enough to meet Kate a few weeks ago and she really was a great choice for the museum. It makes it a little less sad for me not to have been chosen to know that she did an awesome jobMmeLeota wrote:I just saw this posted on Yahoo! and thought of our beloved Amy!!! Re: Month at the Museum
Attention ~ may I have your attention please!!! (Was this from the old Spaceship Earth? It's running through my head, but without context )
Anyhow, back to the topic at hand...I have wonderful news!!! The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry is going to repeat the Month at the Museum program again this fall Details for applications haven't been announced yet, but I am assuming they will be quite similar to last years ~ a video, an essay, and a questionnaire. I know we have lots of creative talent on this forum...anyone interested in helping me with ideas? The person that won the opportunity last year did not have the most creative video, but obviously had qualities the museum was interested in seeing represent them. Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Keep thinking...maybe you'll help me come up with something. I told my Mom I was just simply going to show up at the museum this time around with all my stuff and announce that I was ready to move in...might get me noticed...or escorted off the propertyJacca5660 wrote:You "GO" girl!! Re: Month at the Museum
I know for my scholarship application I went for the powerful essay and it worked. You have to get to something that will make you stand and make the review committee remember your specific application. I don't think doing a silly act will get you anything.

What was that essay about?!? The secret to immortality? The definitive proof of God? The Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything?Len90 wrote:I know for my scholarship application I went for the powerful essay and it worked.
