The Dark Side
A few years back we did a Universal only trip and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which was amazing! We really enjoyed Universal and IOA - they have a great thing going on over there. Not Disney, but super fun rides and attractions, great places to eat and the Hard Rock had an incredible pool.
Any other Universal fans?

I think Disney kicks Universal arse... but I will say that the IOA has made some nice strides in becoming more respectable.
They did a nice job theme-ing the lands.
The regular Universal is just so booring to walk around...oh look another big blocky building

Universal
The Universal in Orlando is a far superior theme park than the original in California. The one in California was really great like 20 years ago, but everything great about it seems to have changed.
Universal in Orlando is awesome, now. At least Islands of Adventure. It's easily the best theme park, ridewise, that I've ever been to. Regular Universal still blows, though. In my ranking system it goes something like this:
Epcot and Magic Kingdom are tied for first (I just can't decide which one I like better)
Islands of Adventure
MGM
Universal Studios
Animal Kingdom
Halloween Horror Nights is flat-out incredible, as well. If you're ever in the area during that time, GO.

I am a really big fan of IOA. Although I don't like the new Battle for Atlantis show, I think that's what it's called or something similar. The original show I saw actually had Zeus and Poiseden fighing instead of this other wierd guy they have now.
But the details in the differnt areas are really amazing. And nearly every ride is worth riding twice!
Being a former comic book junkie I especially liked Marvel Land. ( I got help... the first step is admiting you have a problem ).
