What musical instruments do you play?

This is out of sheer curiosity...
What sort of musicians do we have out there?
I play handbells and sing (not American Idol quality by any means!), but that's about it.
So, what about you?

I've played piano since I was four. Played the flute, oboe, and drum line (mostly xylophone since I could read actual notes unlike most of the drummers) in school, tinkered with clarinet and sax and violin after college. Out of all of those instruments I still play the piano but not as often as I should

I play a little guitar, but I play when I'm by myself. I don't even like my DW to hear me.

WOW Amy! You're quite the musician! I have long adored the oboe, but will never play one. I cannot stand the reed (same with sax and clarinet).
I was learning to play guitar and piano, but they fell by the wayside for me. I've been playing handbells for 20+ years now...it's the only thing that stuck with me.
I've always wanted to play hammered dulcimer, violin, cello and the flute...but never got to learn as a child. Maybe I'll try and learn at least one of them as an adult.
One thing I'm trying out is the bowed psaltery, but because I'm left-handed, I'm having a little trouble and I can't afford to have a left-handed one made for me...we'll see how long this lasts

I do not know what this instrument is...have to google it I guess...maybe I can have Jacca look it up for me since he is so good at playing the computer!

And I have always loved the sound of handbells, they are so pretty...
Ok, looked up the psaltery thingie. Looks cute, sounds a little like a tiny mountain violin? Can see where it might be more difficult if you are not ambidextrous...

Yeah Jacca...
I didn't know what a bowed psaltery was either until last year at a Renaissance Faire. It's kind of like a violin, but you don't fret the notes. Each string represents a different note and you use a bow to create the sound. It's pretty cool, but kind of pricey. It took me a while to get mine and I am trying different methods to play it.

My two dream instruments that I have yet to acquire are the banjo and bagpipes. Both are a little too expensive to buy at the moment and perhaps a smidgen too loud for the neighbors not to be royally ticked off that I would be learning them

Talked with the bagpipers backstage in Canada when we were on a tour at WDW once and they suggested a chanter which sounds like a bagpipe but without the bag or pipes! I was too busy admiring the cute 6 foot-tall-plus men in kilts to act any further on the matter

I played clarinet in grade school and then had to stop b/c I got braces.

So, I picked up piano. Played in some competitions/recitals. I don't play as much as I used to. But, still love it!
I didn't know we had to many talented musicians here on Sub! Good thread Mmeleota!

I hated the dreaded recorder we were forced to learn at elementary school. I went crazy but I asked my music teacher if I could learn the piano instead of the recorder. She let me do it but I haven't played in so long.

Oh Jacca

cats have too many sharp claws to squeeze ~ I doubt the sound coming out of my mouth would sound anything like a bagpipe

plus my friend's one cat is truly a scaredy cat and runs and hides when anyone comes over...

I was always a choir kid, so I never progressed beyond that elementary school recorder. I sort of regret it, too. I want to go back and play drums, so I can be in TBDBITL at Ohio State.

I was accepted into Florida as an underclassman. It ended up just being a bit too far away and a bit too expensive for me back then.

I tend to cheer for Florida, assuming they aren't playing my Buckeyes.
