MmeLeota wrote:Congrats on your picks! I am 6th out of 7!!! Yay!!! (to be expected)

I have 1 other bracket and I am 1 point better on that one...woo hoo!

There are so many variables in these games and I never know which way to go with some of these teams. I really thought UNLV would get through the first round and then get whippwd by Kansas...my heart sank when No. Iowa made that 3 point basket in the final seconds of the game... :( Oh well...we'll be a better team next year!

Good luck to everyone!
It really seems like so many of these games are coming down to the last second basket.

I have slipped to second but I still like where I am considering how crazy this tournament has been. However, what happened to Temple. Never saw that win from Cornell happening.

I didn't. They threw a wrench into my bracket. Had 'Nova going another round.

And boom goes the dynamite on the rest of my bracket with Kansas losing....

And on day three, my bracket died. I had originally put all 4 number ones in my final four, then I thought back to the historical trend of Duke falling short in the tournament. Also the fact that it is VERY rare to see all 1 seeds make it to the final four. So, I went ahead and made the move to put Villanova into my final four. It was a risk and it definitely did not pay off.

THEN there is the BIGGEST flop that I could ever think of. I really thought it was a sure thing for Kansas. All my research pointed to them being "the team". I think I literally sat and cried as the final seconds ticked off the clock. I have officially called this tournament a bust for me and will now only watch the games as a fan and not rooting for my brackets. The upsets have been huge and those lower seed teams are coming up big. It would be nice to see a lower team actually make it all the way. Now here's to hoping that Duke can choke tomorrow :D

Also, just a side note. It shows me in first right now, but I am nowhere near finishing there. Going into today I was also 99th percentile on yahoo and number 5 in the Rutgers group (500 members). I guess there is always next year.

Yep...me too!

Half of my final 4 are gone...but this is what happens every year...so many upsets...it just goes to show, there's no such thing as a sure thing.

I'm sure this is true for almost everyone but the better the tournament, the worse for my brackets. This has been a really good weekend for exciting games.

Hence the reason my brackets have been "thrown out" so I am now watching as a fan enjoying the games. It has been a great weekend for upsets and an amazing tournament. As I post this, yet another amazing win for Cornell (never saw it happening) and another close game with MSU making the last second three pointer. WOW these last second buzzer beaters keep happening. Has there been one buzzer beater missed in this tournament?

Jacca, watch out I am making a run for the basement soon :D

Yeah... I was rooting for Maryland (of course) but my bracket was very happy to see that last second shot by MSU! Great games so far.

I liked taking the Pitt loss. Even though I had them in my sweet 16, a lot of people had them going to the final four or further. Some amazing finishes for the end of the weekend. We finally had an unsuccessful buzzer beater in the Purdue/Texas A&M game. Great win for Purdue, now I hope they can beat Duke. I really want to see another favorite fall. We also have the potential there for a Cinderella team to make it in Cornell.

It should be fun. Let's get some rest until Thursday because I see more crazy games ahead of us. The upsets hopefully will continue to come.
