The Chicago White Sox of the Caribbean... I LOVE it...
Great idea Boilerdude! If you guys know of a video or song or some other crazy tradition that your team does to rally or get excited before/during games, please post them. That way, those of us who will never get to witness any of those teams live can share in the history/passion.
Nothing exciting in "Nats Town" but a stolen tradition of the famous "Sausage Race" from Milwaukee is done here. The President's Race done in the middle of the 4th inning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnnljS-fgxw
Unfortunately we don't have a traditional opening... just "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC like the White Sox and a brief video of some highlights. That's it.

What's wrong with the rally monkey????? (funny how I've seen rally monkeys for other teams too... )Uhhh, no rally monkey posts
That's a great idea NaCler...someday I hope to make it to every ballpark to see them in person, but this will be awesome for now!
(a little bit of trivia for all you CWS fans out there...Ozzie Guillen played ball with our AAA team when they were affiliated with the Padres. It's possible that I saw him play, but I was pretty young and never wrote down the lineups. I always write them down now...you never know where the next great one will come from)

Honestly, I'm not sure...we get to so few live games that we hardly ever see the rally monkey. They only play the video when the team has to "rally" to win. In actuality, I think we've only seen the video twice. Maybe another Angel fan out there who gets to more games can answer that question...NaCler wrote:I'd love to see the rally monkey video. Don't they change it each year?
(That's the part that stinks about watching baseball on TV...commercial breaks between innings and such. I love the atmosphere at a live game!)

All this gum flappin' about how teams are doing in MARCH reminds me of a couple of quotes (or sayings in the first case)
One is Grapefruit, one is Cactus,
Just remember these are nothing but practice.
and this exchange from the movie Major League II...
Rube Baker: Wow! Willie's really got some power.
Lou Brown (manager): Off a guy who'll baggin' groceries in a couple of weeks!

Doesn't it happen every year, the schedule that is. I think MLB is scheduling more Nats games in the beginning so the Phillies will play the Mets more at the end of the year. They think that is entertaining....not this past season it wasn't. And I go to a few Nats games during the season, also Orioles, Tigers, Pirates, and Reading Phillies (farm team). I like the Nats and if they did good I would enjoy it, but face it they really do get shafted every year.NaCler wrote:Speaking of the Phillies... 6 of the NATS first 9 games are against the Phillies! Are they trying to pad Philly's stats right off the bat (no pun intended) or do they just want to see us in the cellar early?
