Going To Philadelphia
I will going to Philadelphia April 6th thru the 9th with a friend who is meeting with QVC in Chester. Anyone know of the cool things to do and see beyond the historic stuff?

I have not really done much around Philadelphia. If the Phillies are home (which they are not) I would have told you to go to a ball game there. As for other stuff, you can go visit the US Mint. However, there are no cameras or cell phones with cameras allowed inside. The walk through tour is free, but make sure you don't bring anything with you. They are VERY STRICT. The Liberty bell is free and at a separate place across the park from Independence Hall.
Everything you go to will involve lines for security screenings. Bags are hand checked and people pass through metal detectors. Sorry, but that is pretty much all I know about Philadelphia right now.

All I really know about Philly is that WC Field's tombstone says he'd rather be there!

My sister lives in Philly and she and her husband took me to Pat's for a cheesesteak (they know the family) my first time visiting there about seven years ago. I got my sandwich, looked at it and had that thought about steak 'um. I took a bite and the thought was verbalized. My sister looked at her husband and said "See. I told you." He then said with a straight face "shut-up! If they hear you, they will come out and punch you in the face. And I'm not stopping them."

Atlantic City is just under a 1 hour drive from Philadelphia. Depending from where you are driving from, it is about 60 miles. Atlantic City has a nice outdoor outlet mall. It is a couple of city blocks of shopping. The outlet mall is about two blocks away from the Boardwalk and would be in front of Bally's and Caesars. The boardwalk doesn't have much on it. There is an arcade, an amusement pier (behind Taj Mahal) and a nice shopping mall that is part of Caesars. It is a nice place to go and take a day trip. Parking is not that drastic. It is about $5 to park at the Caesar's garage. Of course, you can also take a bus, which unfortunately I don't have any knowledge of.kcarts wrote:To be honest, not really. I know Len suggested the Phillies if they were home. That would be about it. Atlantic City isn't too far from Philly.
I did check the Phillies schedule, and unfortunately they are away during that time period.
