California Weather

Post by elizabethswann » Jan Tue 19, 2010 5:34 pm

I must be the only one that is in love with the rain. We're supposed to have rain all week and so far Long Beach has had flooding. We've had tornado warnings and flash flood warnings and I haven't turned away from the news. We've got thunderstorm warnings for Orange County, Riverside and San Diego. This week is going to be pretty crazy.

I know what you mean...Vegas is supposed to get rain all week too! I love it! But I think it's just gloomy out right now. I rained off and on all day yesterday though.

San Pedro is flooded right now and everything is going pretty crazy here. I haven't stopped watching the news since 1PM.

Wow! I know a big scare is the possibility of landslides. I'm usually glued to the news as well when we get weather like this. Which station do you watch? We usually watch Fox 11 when we're in the area...I love the shots Rick Fox gets when he's up in the helicopter.

We had a morning anchor from here move out there a while ago, but I can't remember which station she is with...KTLA maybe.

Wow what is going on with the weather? There has been some crazy stuff. Thunderstorms, tornados, and flooding in LA. It snowed in Florida this year, and we had a huge Nor'easter hammer NJ back in December.

If North Dakota gets a hurricane, then I'll be worried...

I've been watching KTLA for most of the afternoon and I switched to ABC about an hour ago. FOX I save for the 10 o'clock news.

WOOO!!! What would next lions laying with lambs?

Coming from Brooklyn, there one thing I learn to appreciate about New York City. When it rains, it makes it's own gravy!!

Now that is just nasty. I really hate thinking about New York in the rain... let alone the snow. For some reason the snow just never seems to be the proper color in the city. ;)

Also, I heard a part of Arizona could get up to 4 feet of snow this week with Las Vegas picking up alomost 2.5 inches of rain. This is insane.

Yep...we're supposed to get more rain this week than we had in all of last year! And for something even more rare for us...FOG! We had a dense fog advisory this morning. Fog everywhere!

Fog? Or is it like L.A. Fog (a.k.a. "smog")?

Most of the time it's smog....this morning it was the real, truly genuine, floor-hugging fog. Fortunately it lifted enough by the time I had to go to work...but I sure wished I had my camera!
