Exactly. My point being that if you're that close to the parks and/or the resorts, doing ANYTHING else is wasting your life away by comparison!

Its still not a waste - just some people have a stronger resistance than us to that siren call. He's not wasting his time, he just may not be afflicted as us - stronger will power to resist the call of the parks. Don't give in, Boilerdude! It's a blessing but a curse too!

Wow, we did far astray from the topic again, didn't we?

Has anybody ever been to WDW to watch Spring Training. I haven't. Wonder who has and what kind of experience they had?

The closest I've gotten to Spring Training, is being at the Wide World of Sports Complex to pick up our race packets for various races. :D That's about it! So, I'm curious to know too, anyone ever actually been?!

I went back in '97 to Fort Myers for the Red Sox. The Twins also train in Ft. Myers. We went down in mid-March so they were playing games everyday. Went to Twins game one day and a Sox the next. Golfed the rest of the time we were down there.

To be honest we just wanted to go to Florida that winter. We picked Ft. Myers/Naples b/c the Sox train there and with the intent of catching a game. But I don't think I could plan and execute a trip solely around spring training. I mean, I love the Sox, dearly, but I could take only so much of watching infield practice, wind sprints and long toss!

When we go to AZ, we usually go for 3-5 days. We will buy our Angels game tix in advance since they always sell out (we learned our lesson last year) and we try to see a couple of other teams while there as well. On top of that, ASU's theatre has some national tours of broadway shows running through town when we're there, so we will catch a show. Plus we have our usual places we have to eat at...we don't strictly hang out at the ball fields.

Now, if we were to go to FL for spring training, we would only go to one game....and we'd be there for at least a week....WDW would be calling way too loudly! I love the Bali H'ai remark! (I was actually in South Pacific many moons ago)

Thanks, MmeLeota! Shame is, most people remark to that reference is "Uh?".

I agree...it is a shame! I think it's a shame that classics are being tossed to the side these days.
