Favorite Christmas Movie?

Post by 99Soulz » Dec Wed 23, 2009 10:55 am

This was mentioned in another thread as people have their favorite Christmas movie that they have for this time of year. Mine is Christmas Vacation without question. I can watch that movie every night between Thanksgiving and Christmas. There have been some others that got in the running but never took the #1 spot.

I love Christmas Vacation. It was better than the rest because Clark Griswold is a total buffoon in the other vacation films, where he isn't that buffoonish in this film - and I think he was funnier that way too! He had some lines that still makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it!!!

Can't stand the Christmas Story movie. I think its because TNT runs it to death on Christmas day that has turned me against it.

Other Christmas stuff I like: BlackAdder's Christmas Carol from the BBC. A twisted Christmas special. Then there's the X-Files Christmas Episode with Lily Tomlin and Ed Asner - a classic for each year. And let's not forget the Grinch!

I agree! I can't watch that movie anymore because of that.

Mine would have to be Christmas Vacation though it's been a while since I've seen it. I love both Home Alones the most.

I love the 1970's Leslie Bricuisse musical version of a Christmas Carol called "Scrooge", starring Albert Finney. I saw the current version in the theatres with Jim Carrey, but the film is almost always dark, making the 3D effects not stand as well.

Christmas Vacation is hands down my fav! Like DH said, It's a Wonderful Life..it's one of favs. and also Christmas Story is a close second. Gotta love the Muppet's Christmas Carol too.

Christmas Story is cool to us b/c they story is about Hammond IN, which is near where I grew up! Some of it was filmed in my hometown! The actual house still stands!

I'm wearing my "You'll shoot your eye out" shirt right now. Christmas Story for me. We don't over do it on the Christmas day 24 hour viewing but only tend to catch bits and pieces of it.

Definitely A Christmas Story for me, with Miracle on 34th St. in a very close second (original Natalie Wood version).

Other honorable mentions...Grinch (cartoon only), Mickey's Christmas Carol (how come no one shows this anymore?), Charlie Brown Christmas...among others to which I cannot think of right now.
