Parking Police

I'm reviving this.

HEYYYYY! What's more fun than sitting at home at 1 am writing an appeal to a parking ticket you didn't deserve? C'mon kids! Think hard!

....

That's RIGHT! The correct answer is "Just about anything, wth are you doing this at 1am for?"

Well boys and girls, it's because I found out my window of appeals is only three days long! Which means this has to be in the stupid campus parking's office by 9am monday morning. Isn't that fun? I thought so.

Worst part (and I realize everyone says this) is that I actually didn't deserve the stupid citation. I had the parking permit posted in plain view and the officer was just a dick about it. Guess someone had to fill a quota this month, eh?

*grumbles*

 :x

That sucks. I didn't have a car while I was college. And I'm glad I didn't... I'm glad cause our campus was in the middle of Pittsburgh where there is no parking, and I couldn't afford to pay for the garage. Plus, everywhere I needed to go was within walking/biking distance...

Ouch - we're really hard pressed for parking on campus here in Minneapolis too. I try to use the bus or train as much as I can since gas, car repairs, and the search for a parking spot isn't worth it. Though there are a couple "hidden lots" that no one uses - at 3.25 they aren't exactly a good deal but beats the endless search for street parking when you are in a hurry.

Oh yeah, and the U parking cops are vultures, so you're not alone there...

Parking in general in San Francisco is crazy. SFSU charges $1 per hour, and $5 for the full day. In order to park on the street, you gotta be there by at least 7am. Also that area is notorious for car break-ins.

I used to take the bus to school, but it took an hour as opposed to a 15 minute drive to campus. I'm glad to have my own car, but now gas is extremely high, and I don't know if I can afford it. :x

Let's play a game!

Image

See if you can spot the parking permit! Here's a hint: The officer wrote down my vin number from the front dash but couldn't find the giant blue sticker, see if you can!

*still angry*

Wow. If that's not in plain sight, I don't know what is. I would be angry too.

Unless in the Parking Guidelines it states "Parking Permit must be place on driver side windshield and not coverd at any time" Then they could say well it isn't on the winshield where we state you need to have it. They may just give you a warning and have you move it to the correct location

You've got to love those tin badge campus cops. Yet another brilliant bit of police work.

I checked the guidelines, nowhere does it say that it has to be placed on the dash or windshield, just "clearly visible from the outside of the vehicle". Mostly I placed it there because I have a tiny windshild and it's distracting as hell to drive with it, also because our campus has a rash of people getting their cars broken into to get their permits stolen and that's the cheapest window for me to replace if/when my car gets burgled.

All in all? This is just THE MAN TRYING TO HOLD ME DOWN! Fight the power! *fist in the air*
