2009 California Wildfires

Every single year there's about two or three bad wildfires that are insane. This year, there's one literally coming over the mountains and I can see it from my house. I believe that this is by Altadena since I'm closest to Cal State LA so I have a feeling that it's this one. Either way it's kind of beautiful glowing in the night even though it's going to get out of control soon.
I hope those around that area or in the areas of the other fires are careful and such. I had a fire on the 710 Freeway close to my house earlier this summer but that wasn't too bad.

Wow that looks pretty scary. I would have a tough time sleeping at night if I saw that from my window. Hope the firefighters gain the upper hand on this one soon, but it doesn't look good for at least the next couple of days.

Thankfully it's not anywhere near me. I live close to Cal State LA and this is towards JPL. Here, I went to Google maps to see how far it's from me. It's about twenty minutes away so I'm still safe!

Glad to see that you are pretty far away from it. However, that smoke is not good to be breathing... stay indoors! I think it doubled in size again today. From what the news says out here in NY/NJ this is a big fire that is threatening a lot of homes.

It's kind of bad here at my school (the smoke) so I'm doing what I can to stay indoors.

I can't imagine what it's like there...I'm in Las Vegas, and we're getting the smoke here. It is really bad on this end and there have been unhealthy air advisories out all weekend (although today is starting to clear up a bit). Stay safe!!!! Thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the area!

Here is a good site that posts updates on this massive beast. 105,000 acres. Dr. Ravenscroft, those pictures are almost like they are something straight out of a movie. YIKES!

I was thankful to spend most of my day indoors and away from all that smoke. Even while I was eating dinner in Burger King I could see the smoke rising and clouding up the sky.
