Pandora Disney Themes
Not to take away from Sub's great radio stream, but during a recent period where I was unable to gain access to the stream I started horsing around w/ Pandora. I'm attempting to create a ToT style station which contains not only songs found in the ToT queue (as anyone familiar w/ how Pandora works knows is impossible). I'm thinking about doing it with some of the Future World/Tomorrowland tracks (Yani, etc.) and seeing what I get.
Anyone else try this?

I tried just typing "Epcot" in and found out there is a song called "The Epcot View" by a band called Future Clouds and Radar.
You could try a station based on Ray Lynch and you should get a bunch of Wonders of Life/Innoventions type music.

Yea, well I started w/ as many tracks as I could from the 16 song list of ToT (even though the 60+ min one here has more tracks than that I reckon) and for the ones Pandora didn't have the track, at least attempt the artist. Then adapt it by thumbs up/down songs with different qualities (a lot come out with too much lounge sound) and slowly it's starting to take shape into what I want

I tried Pandora once with a different genre of music. I did the "thumbs up/down", but the whole "Music Genome" kept picking songs that didn't fit with the criteria I plugged in. I haven't been back there since.

I tried my Ray Lynch suggestion and got some good results. Had to reject a couple of tracks but overall it was similar. Curiously, it played both Wonders of Life tracks right away (Celestial Soda Pop and The Oh of Pleasure).
Also, non-Disney related Pandora "stations" have worked well for me. I think it depends upon how vast the library is in the genome for the genre you like.

Ooh. Making a Ray Lynch station is an awesome idea. I'm gonna have to try that.
My experiences with the genome have been mixed. Some of the stations I've started have turned me on to a bunch of different artists I end up really liking, and some of them have just ended up ... weird. Like, through the magic of thumbs up, thumbs down, one of my J-pop stations ended up with a ton of German Industrial on it. I still don't understand how that happened. Made a good station, though...

Maybe the challenge is musical themes can be different from how a song is constructed, the latter being what the genome trys to map. Using measurements like instrumentation, "tonality", vocal style, etc. might give you music that fits together but it is really easy to diverge from a mood or theme.
