9/11 Never Forget

Post by rdeacon » Sep Thu 11, 2008 9:49 pm

Sad day here in the NYC area. I went over and got some pics for those who don't live near NYC.

Those lights are a somber reminder of that day.

Remember freedom has never been free, God Bless our troops.

Thanks for taking pictures Rich. I was going to go try and get a look at the lights, but I just went home after the Rutgers game. There was a nice ceremony before the game that included a moment of silence and a military fly over.

We shall never forget!

I took a trip to NYC in July and being in the Ground Zero area was haunting to me. I did wish I was around to see the lights because seeing the pictures always look so amazing. Seven years...I still remember where I was when I first heard the news.

Those pictures give me goosebumps. It's hard to believe that was already 7 years ago, seems like yesterday. None of us will ever forget where we were or what we were doing that day. God Bless our troops! My heart and prayers go out to all of those who lost a loved one on that day.

There's no way I will ever forget 9/11 I was working at MK!!! It was the most intense, insane day of my life.

I visited the site in early June when my family and I went walking around downtown Manhattan on one of those 100+ degree days. It was really sad to see how the area is still quite a way from being the same seven years later. I went to see the lights a few years ago, and the effect is a lot stronger in person. It really hits you hard when you see it all in person.

Thank you for taking and sharing those moving photos. You are right, those photos of the lights are a somber reminder of that day. With the right weather conditions the lights can sometimes be seen from my home. I will never forget seeing the incredibly sad sight of the smoke rising from the horizon on that day.
