Well we set off for the NorthFork of the Shoshone River, starting from the East Gate of Yellowstone and ready for adventure....oh yeah we found it. but it wasn't the type we were looking for! The River is running very High. we arrived in Cody on Friday night and awaited the rest of the groups arrival, our friend Lesa shows us the front page of the Cody Enterprise with a Moose up to its neck in rapids. (not good) no matter, cause we would rather die in adventure than in a hospital room. after the macho statement was said, common sense set in. we let the two expierienced kayakers test the 1.5 mile route that we found to be the most reasonable.

after .5 miles both were dumped. we chased the one kayak for 2 miles before it was hung up on a fell tree. we continued our quest downstream and found the Resivour to be just right. laugh

back to the lodge after a long day and the dinner was excellent! check out the dining at the lodge...very nice ambiance!

The next morning we looked at the water and as you can see...this is usually what we saw.

so we decided on a horseback ride above the lodge. which proved to be worth it!

well the trip was awesome! and as we arrived home we got one last pic that was irresistable. seems there was an air show while we were gone. but i think we made it home just in time!

next year i think we'll go later in the season. or bring a raft! the water was perfect for white water rafting.[/img]

That's so cool! It sounds like you had an awesome time. Too bad about the kayaking though but those pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Tries not to think of the second scene in Soarin' after San Francisco. Just kidding, but those pictures are really amazing. I wish I learned how to kayak myself but it's always fun to see others doing it.

Awesome pics! I am jealous...that looks like a blast.

I don't like it when people get to live in or visit pretty places while I'm stuck here looking at Houston. :(
