Guitar Hero : Aerosmith
I have to say that after waiting for this game to be released, I am very dissapointed in the songs that they chose for the game. I was hoping for much more than this game delivered and i'm not impressed. So, I was wondering how everyone else felt about it?
You say wicked - like it's a bad thing!

They just need to make the music available via download and not release a new title just to add songs. That's what I like about Rock Band, the download content. I was p*** to find out Rock Band has an initial release to Xbox only this fall. Actually, that's ok - let the Xbox users discover and help fix all the equipment issues before release to the Wii or PS3.
I haven't looked up the track list for Aerosmith, but I heard it's not all Aerosmith music, but there music and songs that they like or influenced them.

It's about 60% Aerosmith, 40% other groups (as 'opening acts', some of which are covers, some of which aren't).elizabethswann wrote:Isn't it supposed to be their own songs though? I don't know which ones are on the game but if they don't have a couple of the ones I like I might pass on it. I have all the other ones except that one.
It's not a bad game and (in my opinion, anyway) they addressed some of the issues that made GH3 'regular version' sort of unfriendly to more casual players. But it pretty much lives and dies by how much you like Aerosmith. Also Steve Tyler is more than a little terrifying in pixel form.

Just read the review...
Sounds like you really have to like Aerosmith for this to be worth it. 41 tracks total, sounds like some are Steve Perry projects and not true "Aerosmith" in the Aerosmith count. No added content available, so 41 songs only.
Improved some things as mentioned - ie difficulty was scaled back so those of us with jobs and other tasks that don't allow for 4-5 hours of play a day can actually compete.
Unless you're a HUGE Aerosmith fan, sounds like wait for Guitar Hero: World Tour in the fall or Rock Band 2.

Well, it's not exactly simon because there's no memorization involved. It's just hand-eye coordination. I wish the game did a little better job of timing the 'strum' with the beat. I think I'd do better if I played on mute.

Does the GH franchise offer the same ability to "synchronize" the timing of the strumming with the video/audio? In RockBand you can select from several options or manually adjust so that any delay related to your TV is accounted for.
A nice feature.
