How has $4.00 + a gallon changed your vacation plans this summer? I know we are staying closer to home. There are several amusement park with in two hours of us. It's going to be more one or two days trips instead of going off for two weeks.

I don't get to travel at all this summer because I'm going to have a baby at the beginning of August. So, it doesn't affect my travel plans.

Now, when football season rolls around in the fall and we're having to drive 3 hours back and forth each way to Austin on the weekends, it might start to add up.

I'm taking the bus a lot since it's my only way of getting to and from school. I actually don't want to get my license right now because I wince every time I see the prices of gas at the various stations around town.

Well I was supposed to go to Quebec during the Summer and now I'm not going. I was supposed to go to Maine white water rafting and now I'm not going. Why should I spend $100 on gas when I can fly to Orlando for a few bucks more?

Living in Florida, many vacation spots are very close, so I have the advantage there. Plus, in Orlando, gas is at 3.75, way below the average in the country.

Yay for tourism.

Me neither. But, that's not until December for us. Half our group is flying and the other half is driving, regardless of the price of gas.

Good luck with the new baby!! We have two boys (teenagers) and they're a blast!! They mow now so that's a plus also!!
Now if you want to raise this or any child right. Show them the joys of GATOR football!!

No change for us we are still driving to DLR. I did AAA gas calculator and it says it will cost around 200 more this year than it did for us last year. That sounds like a lot but really it isn't that bad. Still way cheaper for us to drive rather than fly. And we need to squeak one more visit in before our AP expires. :mickey:

Thanks! Unfortunately, I have to wait a while before I can make him mow. ;)

That's okay, I'm good with Texas football. I (meaning, my parents) paid enough for the degree on my wall, so I'll stick with giving UT my money. Also, I'm pretty happy with my team that doesn't lose five games in a season. :P

The planned ones are still on. It's the spontaneous ones I like to take every now and then that will have to be cut out this year.

Most vacation travel is using award travel seats on planes. Pretty sure we're going to take a Disney Cruise in December this year :mickey:
