I lived in FL for 30 years and only got a light dusting once. Since moving to Maryland I've been excited every time it snows. I've even been excited about shoveling every time. Well, we've hit a record for snow this year which more than makes up for the past 30+ years!

Winter Storm Watch with that soon to be upped to a Warning. Talks of another "foot" of snow to come tomorrow through Friday morning. YIKES!

It snowed here this morning! None of it stuck, but it did snow. My husband called from work early this morning to wake me up and make me look out the window.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

We got about 4 inches a couple of weeks ago here in the Atlanta area. It was great to playin for a while until I had an employee call and say they were "iced" in. Had to go to work in stead of a dayoff. That's when I don't like it.

If I recall correctly 4 inches was enough to pretty much shut down all of Atlanta. I believe hearing that Atlanta Hartsfield even closed for that. Amazing thing here is that the airlines cancel, but somehow the airport is never officially closed.
I'll be at RU tomorrow taking quizzes and exams. Does not look like something that will be fun to go out and about in. Winter Storm Warning aiming at almost a foot of snow. This has to be the snowiest month ever recorded and potentially a record breaking year in snowfall.

The weather for me was crazy today. It went from a thunderstorm warning, to a tornado warning, to a flood warning. Hail was reported as large as a soft ball. A tornado did touch down, but luckily no one was hurt. Just minor damage, except one mobile home had a tree fall on top of it.

Well we don't get snow often, especially that much so we don't have the machines to clear and ice the roads. Plus, it is true that most people here don't know how to drive in it since it happens so infrequently. My husband is an EMT and they ran at least 5 wrecks in our very rural county that day. It's really safer for them to shut things down. I didn't think the airport completely shut down thought - my family got on their flight to Hawaii the next day. Unfortunately I wasn't with them.
