Rock Band!

My wife and I just picked up our reserved copy of Rock Band for the 360 yesterday, and proceeded to play for 8 hours straight without stopping. We took turns sharing the responsibilities of drumming or singing and guitaring (with a mic stand we picked up at Guitar Center for $30). We had such a great time, and my wife usually doesn't really like video games. We're bringing it to our Thanksgiving festivities to share with the family (we have gotten threats of disowning if we don't). Does anyone else have or plan to get it? It's well worth the cost to be able to rock out with a whole bunch of friends (or even alone)!

I bought Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii on opening night.....

Rock Band looks great and all, but it's not as memorable as the Guitar hero series. :?

not YET. Guitar Hero has 3 or 4 versions out, so they have a series already. They were also first. Rock Band is sure to become a huge hit, with many sequels, as it's no longer JUST 2 player and how many great songs by great bands are there.... You can have great fun at parties with this.

Actually, the people behind Rock Band are the original creators of the Guitar Hero series, Harmonix. Harmonix developed GH I&II, while Red Octane produced the guitar and published the game. Harmonix split off from Red Octane after Guitar Hero II in order to make Rock Band. Red Octane is now making the Guitar Hero series. So in the end, Rock Band actually has more to do with the people who created and produced Guitar Hero I & II than Guitar Hero III does. Just an interesting tidbit.
Also, for those that have picked it up. I highly suggest the Queens of the Stone Age three song pack download. Little Sisiter and 3s and 7s are really great and fun songs, and Sick Sick Sick is one of the harder ones.

I have GH3 and can't wait for Rock Band to be released in the UK. It looks amazing. I love the fact you can play drums as well as guitar and vocals. Excellent :D

guitar hero 3. i'm always abbreviating it. also, if anyone else doesn't know this, but they have guitar hero at the innoventions at DLR. i discovered that last month after a friend of mine told me about it so i went to check for myself. i spent a good 20 minutes there playing.

ahh ok. I know Guitar Hero 3. the acronym, however, eluded me.

As a player of Rockband for the PS3 I can definitely tell you it's SO worth the money it costs to buy the kit. The drumset, guitar, and mic and you get two or three of your best friends over to have a jam session... priceless. The only problem that I see is that once your done aquiring the songs you have no way of aquiring a new song choice unless you go out and join the PS3 or XBoxLive networks so that you can buy new songs :( but other than that the game has provided me with hours of entertainment. And on a side note: I own the highest vocals score in my family :P
