Hi All,
I wanted to check in and see if there are any other Subsonic listeners that have been affected by the fires in Southern California. I live in San Diego and have been evacuated for the past couple of days, but hope to move back in tonight. My parents live in Lake Arrowhead, so they've been evacuated as well. Hopefully everyone out there is safe, and let me know if I can do anything to help if I can. Thanks,
Dan

I havent been affected by the fire but i do live about 10 to 15 miles south of the santiago canyon fire. I basically live right in the middle of all the action. I smell it all day long and the air quality is way unsafe. At times it feels like its hard to breathe almost.
My thoughts are with you danimal and everyone else who has been truly affected by the blazes.
Ive seen video of what appear to be fire tornados. From what i hear there are about 12 fires right now. I hope they get this under control soon!

I hope everyone is safe and that you are able to return to your homes soon.
Being a bit ignorant of the region, does this affect Disneyland at all? How about the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park?

I read that Sea World and Legoland were closed but more in an effort to keep traffic off the road. Last I heard Disneyland was unaffected, but Six Flags Magic Mountain has a big fire nearby that was moving in the opposite direction of the park.

I live in San Diego also, I am okay and have not been evacuated but my parents live on the hill next to Lake Hodges and have been evacuated since Sunday night/Monday morning. Dan do you know anything about your home yet?

The Zoo is completely untouched at this point, as it's basically in downtown. The Wild Animal Park on the other hand, was affected by the fire. They had to evacuate quite a few animals, but only lost a bird and an african horse due to smoke inhilation or other hazards from the fire. They also lost a condor facility / staging area and some storage facilities on the outskirts of the park to fire.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers everyone, glad to see that it seems everyone on the board has made it out okay.

Thanks for everyone's concerns and prayers. I'm pretty close to the Santiago fire, but we've mostly had very smoky conditions. I've seen some of the flames, but they've still been a bit in the distance. My prayers are for those from San Diego. I have some friends there, and I know it so much worse than what we have in the OC.
Oh, and Disneyland is not really affected unless you count the occasional smoke inhalation (although I haven't been there since this has been going on, but did go towards Disneyland's area and it wasn't as bad as where I live).

Glad to hear everyone here & their properties seem to be (more or less) okay. I've seen a lot of impressive (in a scary way!) pictures of these fires, including a fire vortex yesterday (fire tornado, basically). Stay safe, everyone.

Hi Chef Buns,
We made it through okay, and moved back in on Wednesday night. Do you know if your parents' home made it through okay, or if they've been allowed back in yet?
