I used to be into EQ hardcore when it came out. Once I stopped playing I thought how on earth could I play this. MMORPGs are time sinks.

I hadn't played an MMORPG for years until WoW came out. Since then it's been fun to play. There's a lot less of the "grind" EQ had. The pace is much faster. The only thing I feel it lacks, is because of the pace, it's not as social.

The fact that ALL my friends are playing it is an indication of how good it is.

Ok, I might give it a try. I got Eq 2 and well I think it is good as the first eq, just not as big 8)

one piece of advice is to pick a low pop server since you will start out at a low level, easy ganking target becouse of the honor system it still hasn't stopped the ganking of people 20 level under them

My son was just online AIM and telling me he was playing his online game.....I think it might be Warcraft...hummm, I will have to ask him again, he is "currently away from his computer" dang him....ha ha ha I bet y'all might even know him, but I have no clue what his name is online. I will have to ask him.......when he signs back on. Oh and if you do know him, don't hold it against me, I just birthed the kid and raised him until he was 18 and fled the nest :D ha ha ha

I had a dream about WoW the other night. It's weird because I don't play it and have only seen minimal game play from my friends.

I know nothing about it at all. When I was searching the forum, I came across this and it triggered my conversation with my son from earlier. The only game I play is freecell.....ha ha ha

I have two really good friends who are playing WoW every minute of everyday when they have the chance. So I only know about WoW from them.
It's supposed to be the online game of the moment.

OT: There aint nothing wrong with freecell.

It is the most popular online game right now. Especially in the Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) genre.

Lion, what was your dream about?

I'm trying to remember it, but I've forgotten most of it already.

I was there behind a character in the third person view. The purple? elf was doing everything, but i was controlling it. It had a pony tail at the top of its head. I just remember running around and doing lots of random jumping, trying to climb some kind of cliff. But then someone summoned me and I knew we had a mission. The point was to try and invade the enemies territories(stealthily) because they stole our elven babies. And the only way to get revenge was to steal their own babies and train them as our own fighters. But I was a newbie and didn't help them, and I ended up killing some of my own team instead. Weird.

That's about it.

Oh, and this topic has just reminded me of a pic I took for a friend while in China over the summer.

For the money!

LOL, I sent that pic to my son, he will love it!
I don't have the patience for the online games, nor do I have the eye hand coordination. I played one with my son once and got killed so many times, he was like "hey Mom, the mall is having a sale, maybe you should go check it out" ha ha ha I took the hint :P

World of Warcraft is not a fast paced game. It sounds like you played a First Person Shooter. Non-gamers enjoy games like WOW because of the social aspect and you don't have to know a lot about games to play or need experience.
