Ghosts

Post by Cutie » Sep Sun 24, 2006 12:23 am

This is a subject that has always intrigued me from a very early age. I have always been interested in anything paranormal for as long as I can remember. I was always reading books when I was younger about haunted places, ghosts, and strange incidents happening from something that seemed unexplainable.
I have never seen a ghost, nor would I want to see anything spooky I dont think, but I know of a couple of people who have claimed to. One of which was a registered ghost hunter who actually enjoyed going to a lot of supposedly haunted places and had some very strange experiences with 'something' that he had seen, heard or felt on many occasion.

My only experience of anything remotely haunted was when I was on vacation with my boyfriend last year. We stayed in an 12th century castle in Rome, which is said to be haunted by 3 ghosts. To our surprise when we arrived we were put in the tower suite which was not what we booked but we couldnt complain seeing as how it was the most expensive room in the hotel. I guess the room was available so they gave it to us.
We thought our luck was in as the whole of the tower (all 3 floors of it including roof top terrace) was ours. It was totally gorgeous with panoramic views of the peaceful countryside. We really felt fortunate to be staying in such a wonderful place with such history.
We were later told in the bar downstairs that it is the only remaining piece of the orignial castle to exist today. We were also told that these are where the ghosts are said to be residing. Strangely enough though it didnt bother me too much at that point, but as it grew darker and we went back to our tower I started to get more nervous. It was actually very creepy and spooky at night. The floors were all made of stone and there were several B+W prints of the tower from the early days hanging on the walls. It just felt kinda.......erie I guess. We kept the lights on all night though and I actually felt quite scared. I didnt get any sleep I dont think. The next day the barman was telling us all kinds of stories about the ghosts (with great amusement I might add)....how people heard horses galloping, had sightings of ghosts, heard footsteps walking around. He said that one couple couldnt take it anymore so they checked out of the hotel at 2:30am. Needless to say from then on, that was it. I had no sleep whatsoever and the lights, TV and anything else would be on all night. I would lay awake all night totally scared trying to listen out for noises. We both got really drunk one night in the hope of just passing out instead, but that plan backfired after I then spent most of the night being sick.

Onother night my boyfriend decided it would be funny to start taunting the ghosts for about 10 mins to come out and show themselves. A little while later though, he was asleep and I was just left there lying awake cowering under the blankets wondering wtf was gonna happen.
For the whole time we were there though, we never once saw or really heard a single thing. I heard a couple of noises one night. One was a loud tap on the cast iron railings leading up to the roof, the other sounded like a couple of light footsteps on the stairs below us. It couldve just been down to the place being so old and creaky, me not having hardly any sleep and the fact that my imagination was in overdrive. It was nothing more than that Im sure.
Having said that, although we had a beautiful suite and a fantastic opportunity to stay somewhere like that, you couldnt pay me enough money to stay in that room again.

Here are some pics of where we stayed.

Have any of you had any spooky experiences? Whether it be through something youve heard, seen, or felt some kind of strange presence. Maybe a ghostly dream perhaps. What are your thoughts on this subject, do you believe there are ghosts out there?
Anything at all to do with the unexplained, then please share your stories.

I worked at a place called Cordage Park for a while doing security, so I was there at night time. Now it was an old rope factory that has ben around for over 140 years. and over that time span a lot of people have died/commited suicide there. A few examples is a person was crushed by an elevator, a young boy fell from the smoke stack, there are many more...

I would say several weird things have happend to me while I was there. hearing noises like chains rattling ect...

Some of the things people that worked there have told me are. A person heard what sounded like a few kids running up and down the halls, looked out and no one was there. Mind you the doors were locked at that time. A person said when they looked into a darkend window they could see the sign behind them but not their own reflection. Another person said they heard an old cart being wheeled around on the wooden floors. remember all of this is happening at times when no other people can be around, all doors are locked.

But the strangest thing that happend to me... I was in an elevator and all of a sudden I hear a voice come through the speeker calling for help. So I pushed the talk button and said, "hello can you hear me" the voices keep going as I listend it sounded like 2 men talking, but their voices were far away. Almost like they were outside of the elevator talking, The elevator has a glass window looking out so I though it may have been someone outside talking, snow was on the ground so when I went outside and looked there were no foot prints anywhere.

Here is a link to some pictures of one of the abandend building on the property and another link to a ghost story written by another guard that I dont know.

Go down about halfway and look for the Cordage Park story

One of my best friends said he saw a ghost in his house while making toast but I think he's full of  !!!! I don't believe that ghosts are like they are in the movies, but I believe some souls need to complete something (or unfinished busines) so they stay here for eternity.
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

We can't you old fool, WE'RE BOLTED TO THE SEATS!!!

Actually, I've had a few experiences. 1st, I think my Dad's house is haunted. Weird this would happen when I was growing up there. I've heard my Name Whispered, things have moved on their own accord, and sometimes, the dogs either wouldn't go into a certain room, or when they did go in, sometimes they would bolt for no apparent reason... I would also see people often out of the corner of my eye, but when i would look, there would be no-one there. This only happens to me at my Dad's house... and even when i visit now... I still see them from the corner of my eye.

Also, when I was 15, I was in a terrible car accident where 2 of my friends in the van died. While I was in intensive care, I felt a hand on my arm, and could even SMELL the musky scent of my friend (he always smelled good... even w/o cologne). I opened my eyes to say hi to him, and there was noone there.... about 5 seconds after my eyes were open, I felt the feeling on my arm lift... I think it was my friend saying goodbye.... :(
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

I think the mind often plays tricks on us, but I'm not a believer in ghosts - once someone passes away there are two paths, up or down.

I have watch'd the show on SciFi called Ghost Hunters. Some of there stuff is pretty weird and I believe that there are some unexplained things that could be ghosts.
