Hey guys, I totaled my SUV last week - thankfully I'm ok but I just got the settlement and I am off to car shop tomorrow.
Just curious - what do you drive? Love it or hate it?

Sorry to hear about your car, but thank God you're all right.
I drive a Honda CRV. Mileage isn't all that great, but I love it.

What are you trying to accomplish? Suggesting for a new car or just have people talk about their cars? I love my RX8
I'm sorry you totalled your car. How did it happen?

I am sorry to hear about your car. I lost my car as it was totaled around this time last year. Funny thing is I posted that also here on this site and a lot of people said a lot of comforting things and it made me feel a whole lot better. I hope you get a better ride and are much happier when you do. I got a toyota highlander and I love it.

Oh Wow Steve! That totally blows! I'm so sorry about your car! I'm glad you're O.K.
It's a scary thing to have happen
I have a V.W. jetta (2000) manual with 185000 miles on it (long commute) and she's still going strong!

As long as you are OK.
I drive two one my F-350 (my baby) that is my sit in the driveway until it is needed vehicle (snow plowing, camping, Home Depot trips, etc.) The other is a 2000 Chevy Impala for the commute.

Now see that surprises me I haven't heard of any of the newer Jettas actually lasting that long. Is it still the first transmission?

YES! And I drive it hard! It burns oil a bit (has from the beginning) but if I've found a great oil that cuts it down. It's a great little car! WOOHOO FOR GERMAN ENGINEERING!
Oh.. AND I learned to drive a stick on that car! (bought a manual b/c it was $1500 cheaper than automatic. WILL NEVER GO BACK! I love my Manual!)

One trick I've learned...if you buy a VW, you want to make sure the first digit of the VIN is not a 3. 3 means "Made in Mexico". W is for Germany.

Well, in terms of my accident I hit a slick spot in the road when what was left of Tropical Storm Alberto hit town last week - my Explorer ended up spinning out on I-95 and I crashed into the jersey barrier on an overpass. I'm thankful I wasn't hurt - the car was totally wasted. Thanks for the kind words from you guys.
Anyway, I'm now the owner of a brand spanking new 2006 Nissan Pathfinder fully loaded. 8)

Cool, congrats on the new purchase hope it brings you many years of trouble free driving. Is that the biggest one Nissan has or is the Armada the biggest one? My next car will probably be the Mercury Milan, got to love the six speed automatic.

Yeah, the Armada is the larger class of SUV that Nissan makes - the Pathfinder is midsize, more like the Explorer. I'm pretty jazzed over it. 8)

Um I drive a 96 Cavalier. Wouldn't recommend that.

Steve glad to hear you are ok! Sucks about your Explorer, but maybe the Pathfinder can make you forget about all of it
For me; 2001 Hyundai Tiburon.

I drive a 1998 Saturn SL2 with about 95k miles on it.... it's done me well, and I own it outright, but it's overstaying its welcome. Next summer I will probably upgrade (but it is SO nice not having a car payment!)
My fiancee just traded in her 2000 Honda Accord (167k miles), where she was upside-down on the loan, for a 2005 Mazda 3 (9k miles) and she LOVES her new "Zoom-Zoom"... and hey, next May the car will be mine too
