I'm married, but we don't do Valentine's Day. I can't stand the thought of buying overpriced stuff for a holiday created by a business to sell cards. I'm of the thought that, if you're not doing that stuff regularly anyway, you probably shouldn't have a Valentine. :)

All of my mates are new from Uni (we're in our first year). None of us have really formed pairs yet, there is just a big group of us so we just all went out for a meal together and had a good time.

My fiancee and I went out to dinner. I got her a little necklace thing (seriously... not expensive. silver and CZ and she loved it because it's pretty and from me) and a teddy bear, she bought me a new backpack laptop bag. Totally awesome.

We do nice stuff for each other lots of times, but Valentine's is just one more excuse to go out to a fancy shmancy dinner and get all kissy :-)

Besides... while it has certainly become a Hallmark holiday... for us Catholics there is a religious history to the death of St. Valentine.

My wonderful wife is always my valentine. We really didn't do to much. Just stayed home and cuddled on the couch.

I'm one of the lucky husbands with a wife who does not believe in Valentine's day. She believes it is a holiday created by Hallmark and FTD.

My girlfriend cooked me a delicious dinner at my place. She also bought me tickets to see Casting Crowns & Nichole Nordeman in concert! I got her a diamond pendent & earrings. Nothing crazy, but it was nice.

Well I guess I'm the hopeless romantic husband of the bunch. I sent my wife 2 dozen roses to the school she teaches at, made a phenomenal dinner, and got her a great gift.

It might be commercial but life is too short not to show the ones we love we love 'em, eh?! :D

But that's my point. Try doing that on any OTHER given day, and see what response you get. You think she'll freak on Valentine's Day? Wait until she asks you why you got her something in August and you tell her, "Just because I love you." The afterglow of that will last for well over a month. :D

I cooked my wife a lobster dinner last night (Thursday). She said she was happy that I didn't do it on Valentine's day. She feels that if I had done it that day, it would be because I felt obligated to do it.

My wife and I didn't really do anything for Valentine's day for each other, but we got our son some small gifts for the day. I also went to my son's school and helped out with the Valentine's day party.

We were at WDW on Valentine's Day!! We had dinner at Tony's on Mainstreet (My wifes favorite Disney movie is Lady and the Tramp). And I had a glass slipper awaiting on a pillow of flowers waiting for her in our room. She loved it and the neat thing is that the glass slipper doesn't die like all the roses I've bought in the past. So now she can remember the trip everytime she sees the glass slipper!

MouseMan, that is so sweet! What a perfect way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Such a pity I had to be stuck in frozen Minnesota doing homework. I do wish I could have taken my valentine to Disney World!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.
