Hey everyone my wife and I just saw this movie and it was really amazing. Parts of it really seemed overdone and drawn out but it was worth seeing. I put my full review on my site if you want to read it.

Bottom line is, Peter Jackson took his succussful techniques for his Lord of the Ring trilogy and created a newer and better version of the famous giant gorilla.

How does it compare to Narnia?

It's almost like comparing two differnt movies. A movie about a giant ape sounds like it would be great for kids, but there is a lot of death and intimidating scenes. Plus, some of the scenes that drag might bore kids.
Narnia is an around family movie for kids and adults. Even in the final battle of Narnia there is no blood.
So it depends on what you are looking for when you are comparing the two.

Loved King Kong but it did feel a bit long.
And structurally speaking, the T-Rex battle felt more like the climax of the movie that the Empire State building sequence. I almost needed a break after the dinos but WOW! What an amazing action sequence.
PJ is certainly proving himself to be a genius of a director but wouldn't it be really cool to see him do something lighter and shorter next time?
It's rare when a film provides way MORE than you expected

cinamaticaly it was a great movie, but come on you do not need to drag it out that long, you spend the whole movie saying allright get to the good part. and....the bugs completly freaked me out
