Now that I have your attention,
, I've been reading up on Expo 2020 which will be held in Dubai. Came across this from the "physical legacy" section for what happens to the complex after the expo ends:
The Expo site will be a springboard for economic and social development... Over 80% of assets will be retained and live on as an ecosystem centred around emerging technologies... This will transform it into a vibrant and attractive destination to work, play, live and learn.
Sound familiar?

No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Hm. Interesting!
I'm constantly like...what is going on in Dubai!? They come up with the craziest things with all their unlimited resources!
My ex is from Barcelona and they wanted to do a similar thing with their Olympic village, but its just sitting there being an awesome spooky abandoned ghost town taking up room

I went to Dubai once and it's pretty amazing for just the sheer scale of things.

Yup, they sure know their thing when it comes to great architecture.
