They are doing pretty well. Up 2-1 on the hated Devils.
From Maryland and hates the Devils? I would think you'd be against Philly?

Jacca5660, I call them the hated Devils because a lot of people really seem to dislike them for some reason. I guess it's because they've been dominate for a long time and Brodeur seems to get on everyone's nerves. I'm actually from Florida, so I don't really have any teams that I hate except the Pens...

Being from NYC, I understand the hated Devils!

Being from NJ I have to put up with the part-time fans. They come out of the woodwork only in the Spring when their team is in the playoffs. Some of the most fake fans I have ever seen

I think you'll find that in most cities. I know it's like that in Boston. I believe that the NHL and NBA have the most irrelevant regular seasons. Making the playoffs in either league is like getting your name in the phone book. Why do you think there is always the emphasis that it's "playoff hockey" or "playoff basketball"? Because the games are much more intense and better in the spring than during the pedestrian regualr season.

I followed the Bruins during the regular season to see how they were doing. I am now watching the games because it's better more intense hockey.

I'm talking about people who don't even know the sport of hockey and once the playoffs come around they are wearing Devils shirts and jerseys. I try to catch as many games during the regular season in hockey. I refuse to watch basketball on the NBA level since nobody plays any real defense.

You should watch the Celtics. They have held the Heat to 76.5 points game and 39% shooting.

I can't stand those people that you mention. You are right on with your assessment of them.

Are you familiar with the term "pink hats"? The name stuck up here. They are the people that show up (mostly girls wearing pink Red Sox hats) at games and treat it like it's a singles bar. They pay no attention to the game and don't care if they are disrupting your enjoyment. There are men that are guilty of this too. They are mostly there to pick up the pink hats.

Can anybody stop Crosby? It looks like nobody can hit him! He reminds me of the GREAT ONE! Does he wear 99? I say the NHL check him genetically!!

I had a DAH!! Moment today, I live in Tennessee, why don't I root for the Nashville (Tennessee) Predators? I have a "T" shirt.

haha... Actually, the Preds look a lot better than I was expecting. They are up in the series now I believe 2-1... and The Blackhawks were the favorite to get to the Cup according to a lot of the "experts."

Wait! I'm confused! :? That's Jacca's line....

I know what you mean about the "pink hats", although I'm not familiar with that term. We were at a game once with a whole group of these girls in front of us turning the game into social hour...drinking beer, laughing loudly, putting tanning lotion on each other...they should have driven 20 more minutes to the beach! We got annoyed and left our seats and went to another section of the stadium...

I must admit though...I do have a hard time staying put when I'm at a big league game since I don't get to go often...and DH has to move around more often than the 7th inning stretch...we will sit in our seats for a few innings, then get up, walk around, get some food, and eventually make it back to our seats for the end of the game (if we didn't get lucky and score some better seats elsewhere). I get distracted by the grandeur of the stadiums and the energy you feel at the game.

Sorry, I know this is supposed to be about hockey and since the 1 team I even remotely follow is not in the playoffs, I don't really have a team. Though like I said in an earlier post, I will root for the Blackhawks and the Red Wings since hubby lived in both places.

MmeLeota, Nothing wrong with walking around during a big-league game. I think that is one of the best parts of attending the game. The sites, sounds and smells around the stadium are unique to any other sport.

Also, if you want to "adopt" my CAPS like Amy "adopted" my NATS, that would be fine.
