The Pens are making a good argument that they are the team to beat. I know this is only the first round, but they look like they're peaking at the right time. Just don't count my Rangers out!! St Louis win or lose still have to live in St. Louis. I guess they lose know matter what! LOL!!!

What is it with you people from PA??? Unless you actually laced up the skates and took a shift "you" did not beat Philly. The Penguins beat the Flyers!!! YOU had nothing to do w/ it.sherabby wrote:Those Penguins are still fighting. We beat Philly last night and now we are back to Pittsburgh for game 5! My dh is a Pens fanatic.

Stop that!! I've heard everybody I know from New England sound like they played when the Red Socks won the WS. Now your complaining about people using we when their team wins? Give it up!!kcarts wrote:What is it with you people from PA??? Unless you actually laced up the skates and took a shift "you" did not beat Philly. The Penguins beat the Flyers!!! I am not denying that New England fans use the "we" when talking about the local teams. I think it makes them sound like yahoos. I think it makes anyone from anywhere sound like a yahoo. Whether it's Boston, LA, Philly, or Pittsburgh. Just so happens the two I've seen on here have been from PA.

As I told my DW, when I yell at Bobby Cox during a game, "He can hear me!" We all say we when we talk about our teams. We (Gators) won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! LMAO!! I'm a GATOR fan living in Tennessee! You've got to know the crap I hear especially when I have my GATOR flag on the car.

I have a buddy who lives and dies w/ the Patriots. When they win it's "we played great" when they lose it's "they stink". I think my distaste for the whole "we" thing comes from him.Jacca5660 wrote:As I told my DW, when I yell at Bobby Cox during a game, "He can hear me!" We all say we when we talk about our teams. Totally agree with you both haha! So now I least know I am not the only one yelling at the TV making sure those players, coaches, and especially the refs can hear me!
The Penguins are not the team to beat, in the east! They might make it but once again they will have nothing for San Jose or Red Wings! Pretty much no team in the east does unfortunately! We will have to see how they do!

San Jose needs to worry about getting by Anaheim. And (call me biased) I think Boston has enough to beat any team from the west. They have three very good lines, the probable Vezina trophy winner, a top contender for the Norris trophy and they went 6-3-1 against the playoff teams from the west this season.DaRkNeSs wrote:Totally agree with you both haha! OK, just to weigh in on the Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh thing I have to say that there has always been a rivalry between the two better parts of the commonwealth....
We are the ones that have pro sports teams so it is an obvious rivalry. Both cities were, and for some reason still are, considered Blue Collar cities and there is always rivalry there.
I do have to say that Boston is really the team to beat in the entire NHL right now. Detroit is always sitting right there, can't wait for the franchise to go over the hump to a slump, but they are always a team you have to at least think about.

Bruins
Boston could beat the west during the regular season but winning 4 against the west after a hard fought playoffs, I doubt it! If a team from the east could win that would be great, but we will see! Thats why the playoffs are great!!
I just hope the caps can pull even with those Rangers tonight!

The playoffs, for a longtime now, have been more about momentum more than stats. Baseball is all about the stats but hockey is all about momentum. the teams that sweep in the early rounds rarely win the cup. The team that fought hard through the early series are the ones that seem to win.

Exactly, which scares me as a Red Wings fan since Columbus really hasn't been that scary of an opp. so far (knock on wood), so if we were to play Anaheim/Calgary/Chicago in the 2nd round then it will be a tough series for sure and might catch the Red Wings off guard, but they are well experienced to not fall into that trap but all it takes in the NHL Playoffs is a hot goalie.Dr. Ravenscroft wrote:The playoffs, for a longtime now, have been more about momentum more than stats. Confidence
A hot goalie can make all the difference in the world, the whole team gets more confidence, knowing that even if a player gets by your goalie can make the save. The Red Wings have enough leadership, that it would take alot to get caught off guard. They also have solid players that can light the lamp, always a tough team to beat 4 times. Capitals have pulled jose and are starting a 20 year old. He did shut out the rangers last game gives me some hope in that series. Got my fingers crossed! Avery keeps losing his temper, we got 3 power plays from him losing his cool! I will take that all day! :0packwingfn wrote:Exactly, which scares me as a Red Wings fan since Columbus really hasn't been that scary of an opp. so far (knock on wood), so if we were to play Anaheim/Calgary/Chicago in the 2nd round then it will be a tough series for sure and might catch the Red Wings off guard, but they are well experienced to not fall into that trap but all it takes in the NHL Playoffs is a hot goalie.Dr. Ravenscroft wrote:The playoffs, for a longtime now, have been more about momentum more than stats.
