My guess is he stays in Texas. I think that he is exactly what Nolan Ryan wants in a starter.

I have to agree with you. I think that Nolan Ryan wants him, but Lee is going to go to the team that offers him the most money.kcarts wrote:NaCler wrote:NYY of course... They ALWAYS get the top pitcher available. sickening really...Len90 wrote:hmm so where does Cliff Lee go? Let the guessing begin.

This is my hope....I'd like to see him stay put and not be tempted by the $$$ in NY.kcarts wrote:NaCler wrote:NYY of course... They ALWAYS get the top pitcher available. sickening really...Len90 wrote:hmm so where does Cliff Lee go? Let the guessing begin.

I know the Angels are planning to be agressive this off-season. It will be interesting to see what happens.

This could be interesting. It looks like Fredi Gonzalez wants some home cooking. I think it's a good move to get a big bat to replace Chipper (No I don't think he's coming back). I will miss Omar, but you've got to give something to get something. Dunn isn't much of a problem, the Braves bullpen is crowded!! Now if we could only give away Conrad!!

Jacca - If Conrad is an error machine, that means he is bound for Washington!

About the time you guys are down there for the Mayhem, the Winter Meetings are being held at the Swan. Or Dolphin. One of the two.
Starts the 6th ends the 9th. If you get a chance, take a walk through the lobby. They were in Boston about 10 years ago. I went over to the hotel just to see if there was anything to see. It was interesting. Executives just hanging out talking, reproters trying to glean any info they could, agents trolling, even a few players.

kcarts - unfortunately I'll be leaving the morning of the 6th so I won't get the chance to stop by. I would have loved to check this out.

Re: Basaeball Smack Talk
Winter meetings were here a couple of years ago and we didn't even get the chance to walk around the hotel!
I was truly bummed too...
Switching gears to summer, if anyone gets a chance to go to FanFest during the All Star week, that was awesome! Getting to meet some current players as well as some legends was amazing!!!

I went in '99 when it was in Boston. It was awesome! There were a bunch of older ballplayers there as well as other Boston professional athletes.
But I have to say the best place I've been for seeing players (retired) was Hall of Fame induction weekend. You couldn't turn around w/out seeing a HOFer. My father and I went for breakfast one morning there and I went up to settle the bill. Turned around and bumped into the person behind me. Told Bob Feller I was sorry for bumping him. He said, "no problem. Kinda crowded in here this morning."

Wow! How awesome!!! We've been to Cooperstown once, but half of the HOF museum was under construction as they were remodeling. We were there in the fall and the town was beautiful and full of color!kcarts wrote:MmeLeota wrote:Winter meetings were here a couple of years ago and we didn't even get the chance to walk around the hotel!I was truly bummed too...

That's the best time to go. It's nice and quiet. You have the whole place to yourself. To be honest, other than seeing all the Hall of Famers, that weekend was not all that great. There were alot of people there. Very crowded.MmeLeota wrote:Wow! How awesome!!! We've been to Cooperstown once, but half of the HOF museum was under construction as they were remodeling.
