Haha! I forgot about that! It's been a while. My brother and I used to have sore thumbs and blisters on our palms for weeks! We still played it all the time, though. Blisters don't stop us from games.JWG wrote:
Concept was great, having to spin the stick as fast as you can - not a great idea. Glad they got rid of that requirement in 2 on.

I remember tearing skin off the plam of my hand on that stupid thing. Whether it was trying to "canoe" down the river or whatever that was or win at tug-of-war... PAINFUL.slotofkit wrote:Haha! We tried all sorts of things to combat the blistering - we were in college and had nothing better to do BUT play the game. We wrapped our hands in gauze, wore gloves, etc. Thank god Mario Kart came out and saved us.

I think the first game that I'm really looking forward to on the Wii is Metroid Prime: 3. I haven't played any of the prior ones, but they looked great on the Game Cube, and since i believe it'll hopefully have a fairly decent online mode, it should be very enjoyable.

My wife has been asking to play Mario Party 8 frequently. I've never heard her say, "Hey, let's play computer/video games!" So that must say something. I like MP8 a lot. But, it IS a party game. Single Player lacks.

If you exchange numbers with someone, you can then send messages back and forth. Also, your "mingle" Miis will travel to each other's consoles.BuDz211 wrote:Whoa! I didn't even know there was a WII topic here. I got mine earlier this year. I had to wait in line at Times Square to get it.
What's with the numbers? How do I get numbers for my WII?
never mind. I found the number.

Ah the Wii console. I like the console... sadly I don't have one yet... I went out and bought the PS3 because I thought it would be the best value for my money in the long run... however with recent developments being talked about for the Wii console and they "nuchuck" esk controller stick it looks like an awesome system. Out of all 3 NexGen systems that are coming out Xbox360 is expected to have the most "expected" releases early... Halo 3, Gears of War, Dead or Alive 4, and so on... so there are lots of great games that will be strickly for that console... which bites in a way because there are also great games coming out for Wii and PS3 that aren't getting as much hype because they are still in development. For instance I was a fan of the Resident Evil series on PS2... but now with the Wii console they are bringing back RE and making it Wii'd which I think will make for a very interesting experience and provide excellent game play oppertunity. Another game that was recently announced was another Super Mario for the Wii ( I heard that on an episode of Game Head ) however there has been no release date set for it. About Mario Party 8 for Nintendo Wii. Personally after MP7 I kind of got bored with the monotinous minigame system and the only ones I will truely play are the ones that came out for the 64 ( yeah I still keep that under lock and key cause those were some great games no doubt about it )
As for PS3 I am personally waiting for FFXIII and Kingdom Hearts 3. PS3 also offers a bunch of options but I can see why some people give it grief... the system hasn't got many games on board yet that are top sellers as with XBOX360 or Wii... which is sad because I think that personally PS3 will be able to gain popularity they just have to develop the games that are taking them forever to get to... Here's hoping all the systems are sucessful and here's hoping Santa brings a Wii or Xbox360 lol

as soon as KH3 is formally announced, I'll consider spending the money on the ps3. until then, I other things to do with my money for now...
same thing with the WII. when there are some great games released for it, I'll consider it
until then, I'm content with my ps2 and Call of Duty 2

Supposedly, the next KH game to be announced is going to be a spin off, not in the direct lineage of the series. I can't remember if I read that it'll be shown at e3 in July, or at the TGS in September. My guess was TGS.js3901 wrote:as soon as KH3 is formally announced, I'll consider spending the money on the ps3.

I wasn't too impressed with Kingdom Hearts. Awesome idea, but the game play in KH1 didn't thrill me. I've never played KH2.
