Couldnt agree with more, the Capitals had to play the flyers last year in first round. Never saw a team get away with hitting the goalie so much. They are an extremely "cheap shotting" team. I would cheer for the Rangers if they have to play the flyers. :donald:

Red Wings. They seem to be the only ones capable of doing anything from the Big D...

Since I'm DEAD!! I need to know how you can back a team, that if it were any place else, would be felons? The last time I saw that many cheap shot's I was taking my kids to get free Flu shots!! Is mugging illegal in Philly? How about assault and battery?

Wait till you come to the real Garden!!! Rangers RULE!!!!!!!!!

Much Jacca's shagrin, Boston fan piping in here. (Although I must confess I am a Hartford Whalers fan originally. Since they left and Derek Sanderson stopped doing color for the B's braodcasts, I have morphed in to a Bruins fan while keeping an eye on the 'Canes.)

First, I want to know when Dr. R was placed on the Flyers' roster. (Lot's of "we" in there  ), second, the Flyers wont get a chance to play the Rangers b/c the NHL re-seeds after the first round. The Rangers will play the Bruins. And third, and quite frankly the most confounding, how can a Ranger fan claim anyone or team plays dirty when you have the dirtiest player in the history of the league on your team?

Derk Sanderson (The Turk)(He is a very good friend of Jimmy Buffett and the song Boat Drinks was written in his honor) is playing fro the Rangers again? I remember back in about 1973 when he was traded to the Rangers for some equipment, but I thought he was retired? Do you remember a Flyer named Dave Schultz? The man had 472 minutes in penalties! With that being said how can you even think historic penalties minutes?

PS Speaking of dirty play in the playoffs, here's a headline I found interesting:

Bruins' Lucic lands one-game suspension for high-stick penalty. I guess it was a mistake?

No, Sanderson isn't back. He used to be the color commentator on NESN for the Bruins. If you didn't wear black and gold, your were dirt. A clean hit by a Bruin was a dirty play if it was done by someone on the other team. But the thing that pushed me over the top was when he call the Whale nothing more than an AHL team. And I vaguely remember Dave Schultz. I also remember the year the Flyers and Whalers wore pants instead of the shorts.

And you want to talk penalty minutes? OK let's talk penalty minutes. Tie Domi, 91-92, played 42 games for NYR and racked up 246 penalty minutes. Over a full season, that's close to 500 PIMs.

The Flyers are dirty?!?!?! Since when? Do not confuse physical play with being "dirty" - no cheap shots here. The Hammer may have been back in his day but come on, that was different hockey back then and everyone had one of those on their team.

LET'S GO FLY-ERS !!!

Not to get picky but they were known as the Broad St. Bullies. In the 70's. As in 30+ years ago. Before 3/4 of the current roster was even a twinkle in their daddies' eyes.

Thank you. And I'm not a big fan of calling them the Broad St. Bullies for that exact reason. That was a 70's invention, and unfortunately many Philadelphia fans are under the misapprehension that this is the current team, not so at all. In all honesty can you really say that the Flyers physical play is any worse that the Rangers or the Devils? It is our division that is rough. All teams have their bruisers and they all use them, it just depends on which side of the puck your on.

by the way 4-0 sounds like a good score to me.......cough cough
