This was my reply on the first page, Jacca. I wish it were about the actual land we all know and love but sadly it's not. Also, search on IMDB for a plot synopsis.

Also, anyone who's seen the trailer would realize that the content is well, pretty un-Disney. The title may be misleading, but the actual film sure ain't, lol!

Saw Coraline in 3D. Awesome. The preview for Up was also in 3D, and will be shown in 3D. Can't wait for that!

We probably will see Pink Panther 2. I would like AaMmmbyurgyur.

If our Tinseltown gets Toy Story 3D, I'll go see that.

The movie I'm waiting for is the Hobit. Has anybody read anything about it? The last I heard it was in production and was going to come out this year. It's like it just fell off the edge.

Nope, it's not coming out this year. They're in the middle of pre-production and principle casting (still no word on who will be playing Bilbo yet; although the director said he has it narrowed down to four people). Filming will start sometime this year (summer, I think) and the earliest it will be released is next Christmas.

Although it could also be the year after that because they are doing another Middle Earth movie that will release after the Hobbit that will span the time gap between the Hobbit and the start of Lord of the Rings, and they'll be filming it at the same time as the Hobbit.

I didn't know Tolkien wrote anything between the LOTR and the Hobit. His son finished the Silmarillion. Who writing it?

No, Tolkien didn't write a specific book that fits between the two, but there's a ton of information in the LotR Appendixes that fills in the time. They'll likely take the stuff from there and use that to create a second movie; there's a lot of good stories such as when Aragorn and Arwen first met, the hunting of Gollum, a big counsel concerning Sauron, the overthrowing of Sauron into Mordor, etc. Plenty of stuff there to make a whole movie that would neatly tie the Hobbit and LotR together.

I don't think they can use any material from the Simarillion because the Tolkien estate never sold the film rights to it and have no intention of doing so.

Also the Simarillion is the history before the Hobit and LOTR. I just hope if they do a story like the one you are talking about, that it's written like the real books. I would hate to see something that wasn't up to Tolkien standards. There are too many of us out there that know what the feel should be. Is Jackson going to have any part in it?

Well, this hasn't been updated in a few months. How many of you have seen some of the movies you have planned on seeing this year?

I had watched Star Trek (FINALLY) yesterday and I was blown away with how incredible it turned out. I've been anticipating it for a whole two years since I heard that they were going to make a new one so it really lived up to the hype.

That good huh? Cool..I was worried they would mess it up.

I am looking forward to Pixar's "Up" and Transformers 2...

What do you mean Finally? It just came out yesterday, unless you were supposed to see it early in the morning and got delayed... :)

I've been waiting two years for it since I heard that they were going to make a movie of it. I came close to seeing it in the morning instead of last night but thankfully a turn of events had me able to see it last night.

I caught Star Trek last night at 7pm- the first showing- and it was AWESOME! I'm sure that a minority of fans are going to complain about this or that technical detail, but not me. It was easily the best of the Trek films.

It was great to be in the theater with all my fellow Trekkers. Everyone laughed at the right moments (like when McCoy asks Spock "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?") and when Leonard Nimoy first appeared everyone applauded. There were even some people in costume. (I was carrying a small toy phaser in my pocket, so I guess you could say I was dressed as an undercover Starfleet officer :) )

What I liked about the movie is that it left doors open for another one. I didn't see anyone dressed up for when I saw it at the 9:55 showing but when I saw Wolverine, two people were dressed up.
