Well, Mouseoholic had her tests done yesterday, and the technician says they definitely found something, but they're not allowed to tell her what it is. The results have to be sent to her doctor, and then she has to make an appointment to go see her and discuss it. So now we get to sit on pins and needles for probably the rest of the week. Mouseoholic is packing an emergency overnight bag to keep with her at all times just in case....

oh man, that's not what you want a tech saying if they can't say what it is.....they shouldn't say anything at all then. It's going to be a long week for sure but tell Mouseoholic (and yourself) to keep spirits high, the mind and body are amazing things - we'll be thinking of you for sure!!

M-couple, you are in our thoughts and prayers! When is Amber's appt. set for?! I hate when they do that to people! The worst part is not knowing! If they find something they should allow you to see the dr. immediately instead of waiting and being upset. I'm so sorry! Hang in there both of you!!! Positive thoughts and pixie dust heading your way!

Very sad to hear that they found something. I am very shocked the tech was willing to say that much. They are usually not allowed to tell you if there is anything since it has to be read by a physician certified to read the test. Hopefully it is not that bad and we will all hope for the best.

Think positive. It's something simple since they can let you wait a week. Positive thoughts that thing will turn out for the best!

I'll keep saying prayers for you two! You'll get through this. After it is all over, take a trip to Disney!

I know this is the worst part of the process...the waiting. I am very surprised the technician even said anything...but I also agree with mamabaminjamin. It can't be something that serious or else you'd think they wouldn't have you wait to see the doctor.
Still praying for you!!!!! Hang in there!

Thanks everyone. She called me today to say that she talked with her doctor's nurse. The nurse says it's ovarian cysts. But we're not sure that's all there is to it. Besides, how is the nurse qualified to give us a diagnosis over the phone?! She tried to say that Mouseoholic didn't need to come in for a couple of weeks, but also that even then, she may have to be sent to another specialist. Apparently this OB-Gyn is all about pregnancies and babies, so if that's not your issue she doesn't want to deal with you. That's ridiculous! Poor Mouse was awake almost all last night in pain, and she went to work today with an emergency overnight bag.... just in case. So she's pushing to get in and see the doctor sooner. I'm still waiting to hear the result of that.
*sigh*
The saga continues. Glad you all care. It gives me someone to talk to.

Hmmm...it seems fishy that the nurse would have given the diagnosis over the phone (unless by some strange chance the doctor told the nurse to do so). Plus I can't believe they would make her wait so long to come in when she is in pain now! Sounds like it's time for a new doc....
I hope Mouse gets some answers and relief soon!!!!

Hopefully, you'll get a more sensible picture of what's going on when you talk to the doctor. I agree that you should push for a visit ASAP. I'm not surprised you getting referred to a specialist; if its a particular type of surgery, they would want to defer a surgeon instead. Good luck, Mousekecouple! We're all here for you!

Can she get out of that office, take her results and get another opinion or at least go to a dr. that seems to have a better bedside manner. They shouldn't be dragging their feet on something like this. Especially if Amber is still in some pain, they need to fix the problem.
Here for you both!!! Prayers, hugs and pixie dust!!!

I'm sorry to hear that Mouseoholic is in so much pain. Anticipation can be worse than the actual illness sometimes. My wife had ovarian cysts numerous times and what you have described is exactly what she went through each and every time. Her OB/GYN had her just wait them out, so eventually she decided to try an acupuncturist and it did wonders. One of the things that she was told to do was to put castor oil over the areas that hurt, cover the oil with plastic wrap, and put a heating pad over it, for I believe at least 30 minutes. She had to do it three times a week and it worked wonders for the pain, not to mention that the cysts went away quickly. I know, it sounds weird, but it can't hurt anything to try it and might help her. I saw my wife go from cringing pain to no pain, in no time at all.
